At the end of 2019, Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Liebherr’s center of excellence for air management systems, obtained successfully the reaccreditation from Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) for its Materials Testing Laboratory. The reaccreditation followed the accreditation given to Liebherr-Aerospace in Toulouse in June 2018.
A surveillance audit was conducted at the Liebherr facility in early October 2019 by the Performance Review Institute (PRI), which focused on both the overall quality system of the laboratory and the practice of static and dynamic mechanical tests.
The Nadcap accreditation is valid until July 31, 2021. The next surveillance audit is planned for the first half of 2021.
« The accreditation of Nadcap is recognized internationally and represents real added value and assured high quality standards for our customers. For the next years, our objective is to broaden the Nadcap scope regarding the various activities of our Materials Testing Laboratory. We are also investing to be Nadcap accredited on other processes, such as welding, for example. », explained Christelle Cabande, Materials Engineer and Quality Correspondent at Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS.
Nadcap is a program that aims to gather the requirements of aeronautics stakeholders in unique audits, which are applicable in many special processes. The objectives are twofold: to improve the quality of the products and processes while cutting costs.
The investment of Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse in this program demonstrates the company’s level of commitment to meet the demands of the aircraft manufacturers. The reaccreditation confirms the efforts and measures of Liebherr to improve continuously its high quality standards.
