At the Korneuburg plant, Liebherr-Transportation Systems GmbH & Co KG develops heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC systems) for all types of rail cars. It is able to fall back on its long experience in the development and manufacture of these technologies.
At the Korneuburg plant near Vienna (Austria), Liebherr-Transportation Systems GmbH & Co KG develops heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC systems) for rail cars. The expert knowledge in air conditioning systems for the aerospace industry gained by the two sister companies in Toulouse (France) and Lindenberg (Germany) flows into innovative solutions for rail cars here.
With the takeover of Alex. Friedmann GmbH, that, among other things, manufactured air conditioning systems for rail cars, Liebherr established the transportation systems segment in 1997 in Korneuburg, near Vienna, Austria. Detailed knowledge and many years of experience were supplied by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH for hydraulic actuation systems and Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS for the air cycle air conditioning technology. In 2000 the newly founded company Liebherr-Transportation Systems GmbH & Co KG took over all development activities in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for rail cars.
