Winch solutions by Liebherr speed up harbour logistics

Liebherr develops an innovative rope winch for the international company North Sea Handling. The aim of this ship concept is to transport pallets and coils directly by a forklift into a side loader and to distribute the goods in to the ship itself in this way - completely without a container or a crane system. The high demand for efficient, accurate and safe cargo handling together with the tight space conditions on the ships pose a particular challenge here.

Liebherr R 938 crawler excavator specially produced for Ghent Dredging

At 6 a.m., the Liebherr R 938 crawler excavator starts work at Béthune river port. The excavator, developed and produced by Liebherr in Colmar (France), is deployed on its own GD I pontoon for dredging work on the inland canal in this northern French town. The 45-ton crawler excavator was specially adapted for this application.
