Press releases | 12/11/2015 New mobile cranes for Floßdorf – Liebherr persuades with innovation, efficiency and customer service

  • Dietmar Floßdorf GmbH expands its fleet with Liebherr LTM 1100-5.2 and LTM 1300-6.2 mobile cranes
  • VarioBase® variable supporting base and compact dimensions are among the main features of Liebherr cranes
  • Floßdorf attaches a great deal of value to good customer service from Liebherr and its innovative products

Crane and heavy haulage contractor Dietmar Floßdorf recently expanded its fleet with two additional Liebherr mobile cranes, an LTM 1100-5.2 and an LTM 1300-6.2. The experienced crane contractor made the purchase in response to demand from the market. Floßdorf attaches a great deal of value to the compact dimensions and the VarioBase® variable supporting base feature of the cranes. These enable Liebherr mobile cranes to deliver increased capacity and also make them extremely safe and flexible to use.

"As far as we are concerned, the LTM 1300-6.2 is a successful development in terms of its green credentials and efficiency", explains Stephan Wassmuth, Operations Manager at Dietmar Floßdorf GmbH. With the single-engine concept, the chassis engine powers the superstructure via a mechanical shaft making it particularly efficient. Furthermore, the machine requires significantly less maintenance work. The add-on ECOmode program significantly reduces fuel consumption and noise emissions. Stephan Wassmuth continues, "The single-engine concept sounds convincing and it appears that it will become standard for this size of crane." The LTM 1300-6.2 will supplement the Floßdorf fleet and provide support to its existing LTM 1350-6.1 for handling work, construction crane and heavy load assembly work as well a service work for wind turbines.

On a visit to the Liebherr plant in Ehingen, Floßdorf also took delivery of a new LTM 1100-5.2 mobile crane. Stephan Wassmuth goes on, "We already use two LTM 1100-5.2 cranes. It is a good and effective crane model which continues to prove its efficiency. It is a compact five-axle model with very good load capacity values." Floßdorf mainly uses its 100-tonne crane for assembling prefabricated concrete components and hoisting for industrial building work.

One of the main reasons behind the decision to buy the new cranes was that they feature the VarioBase® support system and extremely compact dimensions. "Liebherr's VarioBase® is of enormous benefit for jobs on small sites compared to other manufacturers. Our personnel are absolutely delighted with this technical innovation", says Stephan Wassmuth. By investing in these two new cranes and its recent purchase of an LTM 1060-3.1, Floßdorf is expanding its fleet to meet increasing demand from its customers. Stephan Wassmuth goes on, "Liebherr is innovative, improves its products at regular intervals and designs them to meet the wishes and needs of drivers. From an operator's point of view, we must say that Liebherr's customer service is very good and they focus heavily on it. That is exactly how things should be!"

The Dietmar Floßdorf GmbH fleet currently consists of 25 Liebherr cranes and 10 tractor units to meet every demand for heavy haulage of up to 150 tonnes. The company first opened for business in 1993 in Bad Neuenahr and currently employs 50 people.
