For wet soil mixing the mixing tools rotate around the vertical axis of the mixing shaft. The tools break up the soil matrix and mix the suspension with the soil. The binding agents used are usually cement types mixed to a suspension by adding water.

2. Inserting the mixing tool under addition of binding agents
3. Mixing of the soil down to final depth
4. Rotary extraction of the mixing tool under addition of binding agents
5. Setting of the soil/binding agent mixture
For wet soil mixing the individual soil-mix elements are often executed in specific grid patterns, such as for stabilisation columns under shallow foundations in road construction.
The mixing drives for uncased wet mixing can be modularly combined with each other. Very frequently multiple mixing tools are used. Thus, panel shaped reinforced ground structures are produced.
The mixing tool consists of a hollow drilling linkage fitted with blades, knives or paddles at its lower end.
The binding agent suspension is pressed into the soil through nozzles situated in the lower area of the mixing tool.
The soil is further mixed during extraction of the mixing tool and further binding agent is injected.
