The IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational functions of the IT department for U.S. operations including Service Desk, infrastructure, operations project management, staff supervision, asset management, and recommendations to IT Delivery Manager regarding IT policy and procedures in coordination with the Liebherr IT Strategy.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Implements the strategic goals of IT Operations in line with the Liebherr IT Strategy and established policies and procedures.
- Ensures the consistency and maintainability of IT Operational services by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures/policies for IT services and support.
- Performs liaison duties between users, management, and IT staff in support of daily IT Operations.
- Meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Communicates regularly with IT Management, other management, and all users of information services and systems.
- Develops IT specifications, participates in all hardware and software evaluations, and coordinates vendor relationships and contracts.
- Manages the maintenance and enhancement of hardware, network infrastructure, and software systems.
- Manages IT Operations financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing and budget review.
- Manages mobile device and IT communications plans/contracts plans and recommends changes and upgrades.
- Maintains a limited, yet functional inventory of IT equipment.
- Oversees IT Operations, covering areas like Active Directory, servers, virtualization, storage, networking, telecommunications, backups, multi-level IT support, and cloud services, while maintaining situational awareness. Must have a working knowledge in all of these technical areas.
- Communicates and coordinates IT Operational issues with the Liebherr Global support personnel.
- Coordinates meetings with management, peers, and other support teams to ensure alignment and effective collaboration on IT operational initiatives.
Competencies
Supervisory Duties:
- Manages Direct Reports.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Information Technology Operations team.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of experience; or an Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of experience; or a minimum of 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification preferred. At least six years of experience in a management role, demonstrating effective leadership of technical personnel and oversight of associated responsibilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 25% is required.
