Using GPS for positioning
The 115-tonne drilling rig worked from a pontoon using the Kelly drilling method. Here LIPOS was imperative for precise positioning of the drilling points.
"We are using GPS for positioning. That works perfectly even though we are under a bridge and close to electric lines. We have never had any interference with the signals and could always work. It’s a mega support for positioning the piles in the water."
