LiGO - product platform for alternate fuel injection solutions

LiGO injection system combines our new injection solutions for climate-friendly fuels in one common product platform. The Li stands for proven Liebherr quality and innovation. With „GO“ as a synonym for „let‘s go!“, we embrace the challenges of the mobility transition. „GO“ is also a clear call to action that motivates us to leave our comfort zone and create new possibilities.

Versatile fuels and broad applications

Our platform enables the use of various alternative fuels such as hydrogen, methanol, ethanol, and ammonia to meet the specific requirements of different sectors. It can be deployed in off-road vehicles, commercial and industrial machinery, generators, and maritime transport, increasing the technology‘s applicability and market reach.

Cost efficiency

Using a unified technical base for various fuels lowers development costs and shortens time-to-market, leading to more efficient resource use and quicker return on investment. Additionally, efficient and eco-friendly fuels reduce operating costs through lower consumption and decreased maintenance expenses.

Flexibility

Thanks to its modular components, it can be easily adapted to various applications and fuels, enhancing flexibility in developing new systems. It meets the specific requirements of different sectors, such as robustness for construction vehicles and efficiency for generators.

Sustainability

By using fuels with lower CO₂ emissions helps achieve global climate goals, especially in hard-to-electrify sectors. Advanced injection systems and low-emission combustion concepts reduce pollutants, lower environmental impact, and improve air quality. Our platform strategy also supports renewable energy integration by enabling the use of fuels like hydrogen and methanol from renewable sources.

Our platform strategy - your benefits

Our platform strategy for alternative injection systems provides versatile and flexible solutions for a variety of applications. This comprehensive strategy aims to advance decarbonisation while simultaneously improving the flexibility, efficiency and sustainability of future propulsion technologies.

Fuel injection solutions for gaseous hydrogen

Hydrogen fuel injection system - almost a one-fits-all solution

The use of a consistent system approach for both direct injection (DI) and port fuel injection (PFI) allows for economies of scale and provides the flexibility to upgrade the engine to various combustion concepts.

  • H2 injectors: injector family based on a common technology platform and capable for multi fuels and engines
  • Rail + block + pipes: the system layout can be easily and rapidly integrated into different customer engines without the need for specific design changes, requiring only a single rail (example 6-cylinder)
