Real-time display of verticality whilst working
Verticality measurements in deep foundation play a particularly important role in slurry wall operation and in drilling works. A sensor attached to the tool measures the deviation from the X, Y and Z axes. Verticality measurement is fully integrated into the Liebherr control system to ensure maximum process reliability during measurements. The data is transmitted from the sensor to the control system.
All process data are electronically logged, displayed and recorded using Liebherr’s process data recording system PDE. The documentation of the recorded data can then be easily accessed via MyJobsite.
Slurry wall technology

A sensor on the attachment (cutter or grab) measures the verticality in the X, Y and Z axes. The data is transmitted in real time from the sensor to the control system (via cable). Accordingly, any deviations that may occur are displayed on the screen in real time.

A sensor from the company Jean Lutz can be optionally fitted on the grab. It measures the vertical positioning in directions X, Y and Z. The data is transmitted from the sensor to the control system via Bluetooth. The actual vertical alignment of the trench, as well as any deviations, are shown on the display in the driver’s cabin.
Drilling method and ground improvement

The ‘RFK Verticality Display’ provides a quick and easy method for measuring the vertical deviation of drilled piles (X and Y axes) during Kelly drilling. Thanks to the full integration of the RFK into our control system, it is possible to carry out an immediate check on the PDE monitor, as well as to document and analyse the data via MyJobsite.

The ‘RFK Verticality Display’ also helps to measure vertical deviation during wet soil mixing. Here, it is also possible to check the results immediately on the PDE screen, as well as to document and analyse them via MyJobsite.
What are the challenges of working underground?
Poor soil conditions, a lack of visual contact and other factors can lead to deviations from the vertical axis. Using the verticality measurements, the system calculates the corresponding deviations and displays the recorded data in real time in the driver’s cabin.
In addition, the PDE data can be transferred to MyJobsite via Liebherr Connect in order to generate the relevant reports.

Once a PDE recording, including the measuring run, has been completed, the data is automatically sent to the server/cloud via Liebherr Connect (hardware installed in the uppercarriage). The user/customer can subsequently create or view the reports using the MyJobsite solution, which is available as an optional extra. If there is no mobile network coverage on site, the data can be manually downloaded from the memory via an Ethernet cable using the LiDIAG-Customer software, and then uploaded to MyJobsite.
If the sensor fitted to the attachment is driven into the ground, the Bluetooth connection to the antenna/verticality measurement device (fitted to the cabin) is lost. During this interruption, the recorded data is stored in the sensor’s memory. When the attachment is subsequently emptied above ground level, the connection between the sensor and the system is re-established and the previously recorded data is transmitted to the control unit.
