Richard Kölch & Sohn GmbH has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1. The 60-tonne mobile crane replaces a 55-tonne model from a competitor in the company’s fleet and enhances the capabilities of the Fürth-based firm, particularly in precast construction, industrial projects and machinery assembly. With this investment, the family-run company has completely switched its crane fleet to Liebherr mobile cranes within just two years.
“In our view, a crane in the 60-tonne lifting capacity class is now indispensable. The new crane fits perfectly into our range of services and enables us to carry out jobs even more efficiently and flexibly,” explains Managing Director Alexander Kölch.
For the company, the 60-tonne class is now an indispensable part of modern lifting operations. The combination of high lifting capacity and compact design was a key factor in the decision to purchase. The three-axle mobile crane features a 48-metre-long telescopic boom and, thanks to its high mobility, is particularly suitable for use on confined construction sites and in inner-city areas.
The standardised operating philosophy of Liebherr mobile cranes also played an important role in the decision. The LICCON control concept enables crane operators to operate the crane intuitively and comfortably and facilitates the use of different crane types within the fleet.
In future, the LTM 1060-3.1 will primarily be used in precast construction, the general construction industry, industrial projects and for machine assembly in production halls. With this new acquisition, Kölch is replacing a 55-metric-tonne crane from another manufacturer. At the same time, this marks the completion of the transition of the entire mobile crane fleet to Liebherr. The company now benefits from standardised technology, familiar operating concepts and more efficient maintenance.
“We are impressed by the overall package – from expert sales support and high product quality to reliable customer service. Liebherr stands for quality, innovation, safety and excellent service. These values align with our own commitment to offering our customers reliable and professional services at all times,” Alexander Kölch continued.
The family-run company Richard Kölch & Sohn was founded in 1977 and can look back on almost five decades of company history. In 2027, the company will celebrate its 50th anniversary – a special milestone that symbolises experience, continuity and constant development. The vehicle fleet currently comprises around 40 vehicles, including four mobile cranes: the new LTM 1060-3.1, an LTM 1090-4.2, an LTM 1230-5.1 and an MK 88-4.1 mobile construction crane.
