In the East Midlands, Liebherr is the region’s best company at the annual National Apprenticeship Award in the category BAE Systems Large Employer of Apprentices. The award takes place for the twelfth time and is organized by the National Apprenticeship Service. It is divided into two categories: apprentices who have made a noteworthy contribution to their workplaces; and businesses that grow their own talent with apprentices. Liebherr-Great BritainLtd. will now compete for the national award.
“This is an unbelievable accomplishment. Apprentices are the lifeblood of the business going forward and are definitely adding value to our workforce and support systems for our products”, stated Lee Mason, the Apprentice Programme Generalist for Liebherr-Great Britian Ltd.

Liebherr is increasing the overall service life of its Fibre ropes from 14 to 16 years, with the decisive period of use rising to up to 12 years. This is based on multi-year ageing trials on test rigs and analyses of ropes already in field. The new ruling applies automatically to all new ropes and those already in the field. This step forms part of Liebherr's ongoing path towards establishing Fibre technology as the new standard in the tower crane market.
