Liebherr-Hausgeräte has been awarded the German Design Award 2018 by the German Design Council. This is among the most prestigious design competitions in the world and is highly regarded both within industry circles and beyond.
"We are delighted that the renowned jury has bestowed this award on our equipment. We see it as confirmation of our constant striving to manufacture innovative refrigeration and freezer units which not only impress through their functionality and convenience, but also fulfil the highest design ambitions and thus set standards", commented a delighted Günther Sproll, Marketing Manager of Liebherr-Hausgeräte Ochsenhausen GmbH, on the award.
The title of "Winner" for outstanding design quality honours works whose visual design and conception contain particularly successful aspects or solutions – it is an award that acknowledges the commitment of both the company and its designers to excellent design. The BluPerformance BioFresh refrigeration and freezer combinations CBNies 4858, CBNi 4858, CBNP 4858, CBNPes 4858, CBNPbs 4858, CBNigw 4855, CBNigb 4855, CBNPgw 4855 and CBNPgb 4855 were able to fulfil the high expectations of the jury and were rewarded accordingly with the German Design Award 2018.
The explanation of the jury stated: "The technologically advanced refrigeration and freezer combinations of the BluPerformance series impress with a variety of useful functions, which not only ensure that a wide range of foodstuffs can be stored under optimal conditions but also provide maximum operating comfort for the user. The models also operate at pleasantly low noise levels."
The German Design Award has been awarded annually since 2012 to competition entries from the field of product and communication design. The awards ceremony for the 2018 awards will take place in February during the course of the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt.

Liebherr is increasing the overall service life of its Fibre ropes from 14 to 16 years, with the decisive period of use rising to up to 12 years. This is based on multi-year ageing trials on test rigs and analyses of ropes already in field. The new ruling applies automatically to all new ropes and those already in the field. This step forms part of Liebherr's ongoing path towards establishing Fibre technology as the new standard in the tower crane market.
