steinexpo 2023: Alternative Antriebstechnologien für Liebherr-Maschinen in der Gewinnungsindustrie

Mit dem Ziel, der Kundschaft langfristig effiziente und umweltverträgliche Produkte zu bieten, arbeitet Liebherr als einer der größten Baumaschinenhersteller kontinuierlich an Antriebstechnologien. Basis hierfür bildet unter anderem die technologieoffene Forschung im Bereich alternativer Antriebskonzepte. Schon heute bietet die Firmengruppe zahlreiche ökologisch optimierte Produkte, einige davon komplett lokal emissionsfrei. Auf der steinexpo 2023 gibt Liebherr einen Ein- und Ausblick in seine Arbeit an ausgewählten alternativen Antriebenbstechnologien speziell für Maschinen in der Gewinnungsindustrie.

Zwei leistungsstarke Liebherr-Radlader auf der steinexpo 2023

Liebherr präsentiert auf der diesjährigen steinexpo, der internationalen Demonstrationsmesse für die Roh- und Baustoffindustrie, zwei leistungsstarke Radlader aus zwei verschiedenen Baureihen. Darunter befindet sich mit dem L 546 ein Vertreter der mittelgroßen Liebherr-Radlader. Liebherr hat diese Baureihe kürzlich neu entwickelt und grundlegend überarbeitet. Zu den Neuerungen gehört beispielsweise ein neu konzipiertes Hubgerüst, das für höchste Ausbrech-, Halte- und Rückholkräfte sorgt. Beim zweiten Liebherr-Radlader auf der steinexpo handelt es sich um den L 586 XPower®, dem mit einem Einsatzgewicht von rund 33 Tonnen größten und schwersten Radlader aus dem Hause Liebherr.

Liebherr auf der steinexpo 2023: Alternative Antriebe und Digitalisierung in der Gewinnungsindustrie

Auf der steinexpo 2023 vom 23. bis 26. August 2023 wird Liebherr mit über zehn Maschinen aus seinen Produktsegmenten Erdbewegung und Mining vertreten sein. Neben den statisch ausgestellten und in Liveshows präsentierten Produkten werden vor allem auch die Themenfelder alternative Antriebe und neueste Entwicklungen im Bereich der Digitalisierung Schwerpunkte des Liebherr-Auftritts darstellen. Auf dem rund 1.200 m2 großen Liebherr-Hauptstand werden mehrere Raupenbagger, ein knickgelenkter Muldenkipper, der größte Liebherr-Radlader sowie ein weiteres Radlader-Modell, Planierraupen und ein Miningbagger zu sehen sein.

Working with Liebherr Mining: an electrifying experience

Since the launch of its Zero Emission Mining Program in 2021, Liebherr Mining has embarked on a number of projects that explore how the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) can help to reduce emissions. To ensure that Liebherr Mining has the most suitable people working on this project, one such recruit was Kareem Oubid, a high voltage (HV) electrician currently working with Liebherr-Australia in Western Australia to support and maintain electric-drive mining equipment.

Market introduction of the Liebherr R 9300: a cutting-edge 250-tonne mining excavator

The R 9300 Generation 8 – the newest excavator in the Liebherr Mining range – can now be purchased. Following successful validation at a mine in Indonesia, the R 9300 has proven its ability to improve both productivity and efficiency on site. Once the machine enters serial production in 2024, it will replace the R 9250 within the 250-tonne class.

Remanufacturing at Liebherr Mining: commitment to the future

The Liebherr Mining Reman Program guarantees added value for both customers and for the environment. Remanufacturing, also known as “reman”, is the one of the most cost-effective choices for customers as the process uses the valuable resources of a used component to restore that component to as-new quality. Because remanufacturing uses fewer resources to produce components than building them from scratch, this program also significantly reduces the greenhouse gases emitted and the number of raw materials needed to replace used components. As such, Liebherr chooses to remanufacture components whenever possible and desired by customers.

Karunia adds two more R 9200s to its fleet at Tabang mine in Indonesia

In March, PT Liebherr Indonesia Perkasa (Liebherr Indonesia) completed the assembly and commission of two 200 t mining excavators for PT Karunia Armada Indonesia (Karunia) – a mining contractor headquartered in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. This brings the number of R 9200s operating at the Tabang mine to three.

Liebherr Indonesia’s first female technician

Liebherr Indonesia hired its first female technician, Alicia Nelwan, in September 2022 which marked another step forward for the company’s commitment to gender parity in the workplace. Alicia is a mechanical engineering graduate who specialises in rail vehicles. The challenges and opportunities that the mining industry can provide have always fascinated Alicia and the Liebherr Group – with the company’s focus on encouraging employee passions and offering a stable working environment – was the perfect fit.

Thirteen T 236 confirmed for Nzema Gold Mine in Ghana

In January, Liebherr’s new customer Nguvu Mining Ltd and Liebherr-Mining Equipment Colmar SAS finalised a deal for the supply of 13 Liebherr T 236 mining trucks to be delivered to the Nzema Gold Mine.

Liebherr and Thiess join forces to strengthen presence in the Americas

Throughout 2022, Liebherr Mining supported its long-term partner Thiess – a global mining services provider – as the company expands its presence in the Americas. Eleven T 264 trucks were supplied to Thiess in total, divided between two mine sites: one in Chile and one in the USA. Liebherr worked closely with Thiess to ensure that the supplied trucks met the unique needs of each of these mine sites.

Commissioning of second giant excavator for AMMAN

PT Liebherr Indonesia Perkasa (Liebherr Indonesia) has commissioned a second R 9800 G6 mining excavator for PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) at the Batu Hijau mine in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.

Karunia invests in four Liebherr R 9300 mining excavators

In January 2023, Karunia – a Liebherr Indonesia customer – signed an agreement for the purchase of four additional units of the R 9300 mining excavator for Tabang mine, located in the Kutai Kartanegara Regency of East Kalimantan, Indonesia. These four excavators will be delivered from late 2023 to early 2024 and will join the R 9300 pre-series unit that has been on site since September 2022.
