Liebherr commissions new machines for Northern Star Resources

Liebherr-Australia successfully commissioned eight machines in July 2025 for Northern Star Resources – one of the world’s leading gold producers – at two of its operations in Western Australia. These machines join the five PR 776 dozers delivered to Northern Star Resources in February 2025.

Two Liebherr R 9350 excavators delivered to Kascco in Zambia

Across 2025, Liebherr Zambia has successfully delivered two R 9350 excavators to mining contractor Kascco, with the most recent handover taking place in late-August. To celebrate the delivery, representatives from both Liebherr Zambia and Kascco gathered for a handover ceremony. The R 9350 excavators are not only the largest Liebherr machines supplied to Kascco but also represent the largest mining excavators in Kascco’s entire fleet.

Liebherr-Australia contributes AU$50,000 to support breast cancer research

Members of Liebherr-Australia’s executive team travelled to Hancock Iron Ore’s Roy Hill mine in Western Australia to unveil a cheque for AU$50,000. These funds were donated to Australia’s National Breast Cancer Foundation and were based on the performance of an R 9800 at Roy Hill mine in the month of June.

Liebherr-Australia and Glencore enter new era of partnership

This month, Liebherr-Australia and Glencore finalised multiple agreements for the delivery of Liebherr machines across Glencore’s Australian operations. Among these is the agreed supply of 17 machines across six mining operations in both Queensland and New South Wales, with deliveries running through to the end of 2026.

Liebherr Indonesia opens its doors to inspire the next generation

On 2 June, Liebherr Indonesia welcomed a delegation from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember – one of the top engineering universities in Indonesia – to its remanufacturing centre in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The visit highlights the importance of collaboration between heavy industry and the academic institutions training the next generation.

Liebherr-Canada delivers brand-new PR 776 dozers to Gibraltar mine

On 29 April, team members from Liebherr-Canada travelled to Gibraltar mine in British Columbia for the handing over of four PR 776 dozers to Taseko Mines. One of these dozers is the latest generation of Liebherr’s flagship 70-tonne dozer, the PR 776 G8. This will be the first of Liebherr’s Generation 8 machines to hit Canadian soil.

Liebherr-Australia's Perth facility fabricates its 100th bucket

In April 2025, the fabrication team at Liebherr-Australia’s Perth facility in Western Australia celebrated its 100th bucket fabrication. The milestone bucket was delivered to an iron ore operation in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and was fitted to an R 9600 excavator.

Making it happen behind the scenes

As a service administrator, Jade Wallace handles the behind-the-scenes administrative work that keeps the mining service department at Liebherr-Canada’s Acheson branch in the western province of Alberta running smoothly. Her role may not be customer facing, but her work is essential for keeping the mining service team organised and on track.

The R 9150 excavator arrives in Greece

Back in February, the very first R 9150 excavator in Greece was assembled and delivered to Ptolemaida-Florina coal mine, which has one of the largest lignite reserves in all of Europe. This exciting excavator delivery was a collaboration between Tsekouras SA, Liebherr’s equipment dealer in Greece, and Liebherr Mining’s excavator production facility in Colmar, France.

Liebherr-Australia commissions second R 9600 for Yellow Iron Fleet at Stanmore Resources’ Queensland operation

Liebherr-Australia is pleased to announce the commissioning of a second R 9600 excavator for Yellow Iron Fleet, which has been operating at Stanmore Resources’ South Walker Creek metallurgical coal mine in Queensland since early May.

MPM: Strong in mining with mobile cranes from Liebherr
