El aeropuerto de Santiago de Chile se convertirá en uno de los puntos neurálgicos más importantes de América del Sur gracias a la ampliación hasta 265.000m² de su superficie y a la construcción de una nueva terminal. Una vez finalizado el proyecto, el aeropuerto aumentará su capacidad total a 30 millones de pasajeros al año, casi el doble de la actual. Pasará de tener 18 puentes de embarque de pasajeros a 67 en total. Además, el número de plazas de aparcamiento aumentará más del doble. 23 grúas torre de Liebherr de la serie EC-B se encargarán de ejecutar el proyecto: ocho 250 EC-B 12 Litronic, seis 150 EC-B 8 y nueve 110 EC-B 6. Se utilizarán longitudes de pluma de 45 a 60m y alturas bajo gancho de 17 a 45m.
En octubre de 2015 se iniciaron varias rondas de negociaciones con el consorcio constituido específicamente para este proyecto por las empresas de construcción Vinci y Astaldi, y a mediados de septiembre se firmó el contrato. El factor determinante para el cliente ha sido la presencia de una filial de Liebherr en Santiago y la firma del contrato de forma conjunta con el proveedor Maquinarias Cruz del Sur. Este proveedor ofrece al cliente, además de su flota de grúas 110 EC-B 6, servicios de instalación y de reparación, así como gruistas para cada una de las máquinas: un verdadero paquete «todo incluido».

Considerate and flexible: two Liebherr NC-B cranes at work in Sai Kung
A new residential development is under construction in Ho Chung, Sai Kung. Foundation and excavation and lateral support works have been underway since December 2024 and are expected to continue until end of 2026. Two Liebherr NC-B 12-70 tower cranes are handling material logistics on the confined site.

Water for a whole valley: Liebherr Fibre crane at work high in Val Trompia
In Bovegno, Italy, work is progressing on a new drinking water treatment plant designed to supply thousands of residents and businesses across the Val Trompia region. Handling the major lifting tasks on site is a Liebherr 240 EC-B Fibre tower crane, its fourth deployment and the first of its kind to arrive in the country.
