Interview with Nico Luedtke - Director, Product Support
In February 2019, Nico Luedtke joined the Management Team of Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS in the position of Director Product Support. He reports directly to Alex Vlielander, Chief Services Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS.
Nico, could you please tell us more about you?
“In 2001, I joined the Liebherr-Aerospace Customer Services Department in Lindenberg as a Repair and Overhaul Administrator. I was then responsible for Supplier Development and Supply-Chain Quality within the Procurement Department, before joining the Serial Program Management team during the last five years as a Program Manager on Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier aircraft programs.”
What is your field of responsibilities?
“I am accountable along all phases of the product lifecycle (acquisition, development, in-service) regarding the performance of related Product Support Agreements that are in force with all our aircraft manufacturers’ customers. This includes business performance and customer satisfaction by driving teams of Product Support Managers located in Lindenberg (Germany) and Toulouse (France).
In addition, I coordinate the Liebherr-Aerospace Customer Services worldwide network of Field Service Representatives (FSR) and I am responsible for the Liebherr-Aerospace Regional Technical Workshops (RTW) in order to ensure high-level support to our customers all over the world.”
How does your role benefit our customers?
“As Liebherr-Aerospace focal point for all our customers concerning product support topics, I have a global vision of our activities on our whole product portfolio and for all aircraft programs we are working on. This means that we develop common processes for all the different sites of our network, we capitalize transversal information on our programs and continuously share best practices among the teams involved.
Also, participating in our RTW and in several operators’ conferences worldwide, I want to preserve a strong proximity with our end customers, the aircraft operators. Being in direct contact with aircraft manufacturers and operators regarding product support issues is the best way for us to optimize our products performance and ensure customer satisfaction.”
