The PHS Pro linear Pallet Handling System leaves nothing to be desired. This product line is flexibly scalable like no other. There is no limit to the length, height or number of machines, even in the heavy-duty range of up to 13 tons of transport weight. This flexible manufacturing system is equipped for large weights as well as small quantities. It automatically delivers machine pallets to machine tools. The pallet handling system increases the machine runtime utlization to up to 90% and reduces unit costs by up to 40%.
Liebherr’s proven modular design for the PHS Pro, with individual modules such as the rack being adapted to individual requirements and designed to customer specifications. This makes optimal use of the available space.
In addition to the four standard sizes, Liebherr also implements special solutions for special tasks; for example, intermediate storage for refrigerator housings or buffer storage in production lines.
The advantage of a pallet handling system is the reduction of unit costs. This results from the increase in the machine runtime of machining centers without automation achieve utilization of up to 50%. A PHS increases the machine utilization rate to 90%. Since you can now produce considerably more with the available machines, the unit costs fall dramatically by up to 40%.
Heavy loads are our specialty. Our PHS Pro in particular is designed for the automation of large machines which are used, for example, in the machining of heavy fittings, structural components for aviation or transmission parts for trucks and construction machinery. Unlike crane loading, the PHS Pro saves on lifting gear for part handling at the crane as well as intermediate storage areas. As a result, the production area is compact, uncluttered and, above all, well organized.
In the holistic system concept of the PHS Pro, raw materials and finished parts management can be integrated in addition to pallet management. In addition to the storage for machine pallets, there is also an area for material pallets and the cell control manages the entire process from the raw part to the finished part. This simplifies the surrounding logistics, allowing large input and output stations to be omitted, with parts simply being fed in or removed from the system as required.
Our optional front access enables you to access individual machine tools at any time by decoupling them from Automatic Mode. This means manual loading of a machine can be carried out, for example, for single orders or sample parts, but service work can also be performed.
The setup station is the interface between the operator and the manufacturing system. Workpieces are clamped onto the machine pallets here. Ergonomics and ease of usability have first priority. In order to satisfy different requirements, Liebherr offers numerous setup station variants and additional functions to expand the possibilities. An electric rotary axis relieves the burden on the operator and enables accessibility on all sides of the pallet; in addition, clamping hydraulics can be integrated.
Liebherr can do more than just workpiece handling: Our Tool Handling System (THS) also automates tool management. Tools are managed in a central storage location and automatically distributed to the machines. With tool magazines on the floor (FSR) or above the machine column (TSR), the system offers two possibilities for improving your resource management and increases the productivity of your machine tools.
Production that organizes itself? Our software solutions for controlling flexible manufacturing systems make the impossible possible. As a link for all the interfaces, our cell control performs horizontal and vertical integration. This is how we support you along the entire value chain.
Order management is the core element of cell control. It ensures on-time production and, depending on the manufacturing strategy, just-in-time production as well. The possibility of vertically integrating your ERP system enables orders to be generated directly according to your delivery times. The cell control then creates the appropriate work schedules, checks resources and guides the operator through the necessary steps.
After the cell control has determined the orders and subdivided them into task packages, it’s the operators turn to set up parts, organize resources and report back the status. The cell control conveniently ensures that nothing has been forgotten and all the deadlines have been met. The setup dialog with indications for workpiece clamping, for example, can be generated directly from the CAM.
Are you not yet satisfied and do you want to enhance the productivity of your flexible manufacturing system even further? The cell control helps you to do so. Statistical evaluations enable conclusions to be drawn about optimization. In the event of malfunctions, you receive immediate information. Alarms are provided in real time in the desired channels this means you don’t lose a second of your manufacturing capacity.
Our strength is in the excellent system and solution competence from Liebherr. We combine various products with our many years of experience in order to produce the right solution for you. This expands your possibilities, for instance
