Big shots of the mining industry
Big excavators
With an operating weight of up to 810 tons, the R 9800 mining excavator from Liebherr is deployed mainly in large open-cast mines. The diesel engine delivers more than 4,000 HP (2,984 kW) at 1,800 rpm. The backhoe or face shovel each have a capacity of 42 cubic meters.
Truck of superlatives
The Liebherr T 284 mining truck is the lightest (tare weight of 237 t) and most capable (highest payload at 363 t and – depending on the engine option – up to 4,023 HP) ultra-class mining truck in the world. The high-end heavy-duty truck can accelerate to 64 kilometers per hour.
Mega crawler tractor
A real earth mover: the PR 776 Litronic mining crawler tractor. With an engine rating of 768 HP (565 kW) and a blade capacity of up to 22 cubic meters, the 12-cylinder diesel machine can handle even the biggest chunks in mining terrain. Depending on its version, the crawler tractor comes in an operating weight of 64 or 74 tons. The intelligent machine management system enables the operator to choose between maximum power and maximum efficiency depending on what is necessary.
