Liebherr refrigerator factory in Bulgaria complements the production network

In 1999 the Liebherr Group set up Liebherr-Hausgeräte Marica EOOD. This strategically important decision to expand the refrigerating and freezing area with an additional production site was already made at the end of the 1990s. With an investment of roughly € 25 million, the new refrigerator factory was at that point the largest investment project in the industrial field in Bulgaria.
Refrigerators and freezers are manufactured at the 250,000m² site of the production company, which, in addition to three other production sites in Germany, Austria and Malaysia, is part of the Liebherr Domestic Appliances division. A clear objective at inception is that the recognized Liebherr product quality also takes absolute priority in production at the new site.

Liebherr Domestic Appliances produces around 2.2 million refrigerators and freezers annually and is therefore one of the market leaders in Europe. Over one third of these appliances (750,000 appliances with over 100 different models) come from the Liebherr plant in Radinovo.
Since its foundation over 7.5 million high-quality refrigerators and freezers with the Liebherr brand have been manufactured in the plant in Bulgaria, where application-specific solutions are combined with maximum energy efficiency and innovative product design.
Ideas, modern design and clever solutions for optimal operating comfort characterize the range of Liebherr domestic appliances for the production, marketing and service of the domestic appliances from this brand. It includes table-top, free-standing and combined refrigerators and freezers, freezer chests, food storage and drink cooling refrigerators, wine cooling and wine temperature control cabinets, as well as refrigerators and freezers for commercial use. Domestic appliances from Liebherr are a symbol of quality in Europe and beyond. Every day more than 4,000 appliances leave Liebherr’s production plants in Bulgaria.

Energy efficiency and environmental protection
With its range of energy-efficient refrigerators and freezers, Liebherr Domestic Appliances Marica EOOD is making an active contribution to environmental protection. Liebherr was the first company to convert its entire range of refrigerators and freezers to the environmentally friendly refrigerants R 290 and R 600a. They are HFC/CFC-free and do not have any damaging influences on the ozone layer, nor do they contribute to the associated greenhouse effect. With the highly efficient cooling components of the Liebherr appliances, there is also a significant reduction in energy consumption.
