New Tasks for the M-346 Jet Trainer

Italian aircraft manufacturer Leonardo Aircraft is preparing two variants of their M-346AJT (Advanced Jet Trainer) for service. The M-346FA (Fighter Attack) and the M-346FT (Fight Trainer), intended for a variety of international customers, are currently undergoing certification and flight tests. Firm orders have already been placed for the FA, with deliveries expected to begin in 2021.

Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany) supports all three variants, having developed the main landing gear, nose landing gear, and nose wheel steering systems. The company’s experience with landing gear systems has been evolving for over 60 years, when it started business as a maintenance facility for military aircraft programs.

This experience has been developing continuously to this day not only with new system and gear structure designs, but also with a world-wide maintenance, repair, and overhaul network, including domestic support in the USA.
