Exercises in the Desert
In March 2020, the German Armed Forces completed a series of desert exercises in Niger with the Airbus H145M helicopter. Reliable Liebherr technology is on board.
These certification exercises in Africa, conducted in severe sand and dust conditions, were completed without failure or service interruption.
Liebherr-Aerospace designed and developed several systems for the H145M, including the tail rotor gearbox, power transmission gears, servo controls for the main and tail rotor, as well as the hydraulic power supply.
The H145M is the militarized version of the popular H145 (formerly Eurocopter EC145) first delivered in 2014. A militarized version of the earlier EC145 Light Utility Helicopter, designated the UH-72 Lakota, has been in service with the US Army since 2006.
With the same Liebherr equipment on board, the fleet has a dispatch reliability above 99%, even in extreme conditions.
