EV China 2019 was an excellent occasion for our customers, i.e. fuel cell car manufacturers and fuel cell system integrators, to see the latest version of a compact electrical turbo-compressor with integrated power electronics.

At our booth, we offered visitors the possibility to exchange with our experts and discuss about the different advantages of state-of-the-art technologies in the E-mobility sector. The fair was a good opportunity to market our new product range within the very fast growing railway market in SE Asia and our new Asian customers are open to work with us.

Equipment for the next generation of fuel cell powered cars in China

A while ago, Liebherr has been selected for a fuel cell platform by Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd. (SHPT), based in Shanghai (China) to provide several thousand electrical turbo-compressors and associated power electronics.

Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS (France), Liebherr’s center of competence for air management systems, is responsible for the design and development of the unit. The production of the units will involve Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS (France), Liebherr’s center of competence for air management systems, together with Liebherr-Elektronik GmbH (Germany), Liebherr’s center of competence for electronic hardware, as well as Liebherr Machinery Shanghai (China). The technology equipment for the next generation of fuel cell-powered cars will be integrated in a light commercial vehicle.

Furthermore, Liebherr presented at the exhibition in Shanghai its latest technology for e-mobility DC super-fast charging stations, a thermal conditioning unit. The cooling unit enables very fast charging of electrical vehicles in 10-15 minutes – even under very high ambient temperatures. Its weight and dimension optimized design allows integration into any charge post. With the development of these active cooling units, we are opening up a new product range and are already working on other units for the world’s growing demand for charger facilities.
