Liebherr-Elektronik GmbH has made the EMS service, that already exists for its sister companies, also available to our external customers. Hydraulic cylinders meet China

Both European and Chinese customers are increasingly valuing the importance of local supply for their production companies. Pursuing such a “local for locals” approach, we’ve opened an assembly line for hydraulic cylinders at the site in Dalian, where Liebherr already produces its earthmoving machinery. Adding to an automatic washing system, part of this assembly line is also a painting system, as well as an assembly stand, where the final inspection is directly integrated.

In the future, hydraulic cylinders for the Chinese market will leave the Dalian plant in addition to our drive components.

Shift gears für Russia’s biggest infrastructure project

Also the Liebherr-Components Division is a part of this success story, being a reliable partner for its diverse solutions. One vivid example is the business unit fuel injection solutions. Paul Mercurio represents its activities at Liebherr USA, Co. In an interview, we asked him for insights into the common rail technology, his daily business in the US and the challenges he and the Components’ team are facing day by day.

CRP: hydraulic cylinders made light

Carbon-fibre reinforced plastic is used primarily in systems, in which the optimisation of weight and dynamics are essential. Upon the integration of hybrid cylinders exactly where the tube is wrapped with CRP, the resulting weight savings help to achieve exactly these objectives.

On top, the use of hybrid cylinders does not only allow to manufacture longer booms or gain more efficiency through increased digging and handling capacities. It also ensures easy interchangeability without changing the design of the application possible.
