Press releases | 10/26/2016 Jaromin adds Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane to its fleet

  • LTM 1250-5.1 now the largest crane in the Jaromin fleet
  • Jaromin strives to improve efficiency using innovative crane technology
  • The LTM 1250-5.1 is the most powerful 5-axle crane on the market

Autokran-Dienst Jaromin GmbH took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane in September. The 5-axle 250-tonne mobile crane adds to the Oberhausen-based company's crane fleet, extending it upwards. Previously a Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 was the largest crane in the fleet.

Olaf Jaromin, Managing Partner, came to the manufacturing plant in Ehingen with his technical customer service executive, Markus Rühr, to take delivery of the new 250-tonne machine in person. He said: "Since customers want higher and higher lifting capacities, we decided to add to our crane fleet. On the one hand, the Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 provides the capacity we need, whilst on the other it is a 5-axle crane and therefore still very compact." Markus Rühr added: "A 6-axle crane would also have involved having to obtain more complicated driving permits. The long lattice jib on the LTM 1250-5.1, which can be lowered to 45 degrees, enables us to get around difficult edges and the lifting capacities are still excellent even with a large radius".

The other major criterion in favour of the Liebherr crane for Jaromin is the outstanding support provided by the neighbouring Liebherr Service outlet in Oberhausen.

Autokrandienst Jaromin GmbH

Jaromin is family-run and was founded in 1982 as a crane hire company, now employing around 40 people. Its fleet includes 13 telescopic mobile cranes, most of them from Liebherr, 5 mobile construction cranes, 4 telescopic crawler cranes and 15 miniature cranes. The reason for the large number of different crane types is that the company aims to make its crane work as efficient as possible by using innovative crane technology.

LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane

The LTM 1250-5.1 is the most powerful mobile crane on 5 axles on the market. It is the third crane model with the innovative Liebherr single-engine concept. In addition to a multi-functional folding jib, a 50 m fixed jib is also available. The Liebherr innovations VarioBase, VarioBallast and ECOmode mean that crane operators can use the new LTM 1250-5.1 with even more safety and efficiency.

The LTM 1250-5.1 can be operated with two different ballast radii: 5.58 m or 4.78 m. Liebherr has designed a solution to adjust the ballast radius particularly quickly and easily. The ballast radius is reduced by 800 mm using standard mechanically swivelling ballasting cylinders. This solution is a major benefit of the new 250-tonne model for use in constricted conditions.
