The Mobile Crane Operator World Championships
Crane operators build the world we live in. They lift what would otherwise stay lying on the ground. They shape what the skyline will look like tomorrow. Day after day. On construction sites all over the world.
Behind them are companies that prioritise training and responsibility. However the recognition for this is often lacking.
With Game of Cranes, we are making these accomplishments visible. Companies have the opportunity to nominate their best crane operators for the competition. In demanding challenges, the world’s best compete against one another, demonstrating precision, skill and nerves of steel. At the end there will be only one number 1.
The title was awarded for the first time in 2025. Scott White from City Lifting came out on top and secured the winner’s spot on the podium.

Your path to the title
That’s how you become part of Game of Cranes.
Your nomination and application are completed in just a few clicks.
To participate, you’ll need a MyLiebherr account that’s linked to your company’s MyLiebherr account.
- If you don’t yet have a MyLiebherr account, you can set one up very easily.
- Next, ask within your organisation who manages the MyLiebherr corporate account. As soon as your MyLiebherr account has been activated, please let the relevant person know. They can link your account to the corporate account and assign you the “Game of Cranes” role.
- You can then nominate your company for Game of Cranes.
The nomination is made by the person who administers the MyLiebherr corporate account and takes just a few clicks.
- The admin of the corporate account opens the nomination form. If you are not currently registered for MyLiebherr, the registration page will appear first.
- After registration, the company data stored in the MyLiebherr corporate account will automatically be transferred over to the form.
- The company administrator will then select you as a crane operator from the drop-down menu. This page displays all employees who have been assigned the ”Game of Cranes” role in MyLiebherr.
- Your personal details will be transferred to the form automatically.
- Check the details, submit the form, and you’re done.
Important: For a person to appear in the drop-down menu and be eligible for nomination, they must be assigned to the MyLiebherr corporate account and have the ”Game of Cranes” role.
If several crane operators from the same company are to be nominated, the nomination form can simply be opened again and completed separately for each additional person.

Once you have been nominated, you, as the nominated crane operator, will receive a confirmation e-mail. This contains your personal application ID and a link to the upload portal.
To apply, please submit the following there:
- A portrait photograph taken in front of a crane
- A short video showing your skills
- Information about your professional career
Recommendation for the video: It would be best if you could show us your crane operation and give us an insight into your day-to-day work. That way, we’ll get a genuine impression of your skills and what you do.
The video you have submitted, along with details of your career, will be published here on the website as part of the community voting process.
Nomination for Game of Cranes
The nomination is made by the person who administers the MyLiebherr corporate account. To call up the form as an administrator, please first register with MyLiebherr.
If you do not yet have an account, you can create one here.
Please note: crane operators must also have a MyLiebherr account and have been assigned the ”Game of Cranes” role. If a person does not appear on the nomination form, please first assign them this role in MyLiebherr.
It’ll soon be time:
the nomination and application phase begins on 1st October 2026. Your company can nominate you as a mobile crane operator. You can them complete your application.
The closing date for entries is 13 November 2026.
Voting
From 16 November 2026, all valid applications will be available to view here on this page. Anyone can vote, be it a colleague, customer or a member of the family. One vote per person, per day. Anyone wh gets a lot of votes will go far.
The community votes are not the whole story, however. A panel of Liebherr experts assesses each entry on the basis of crane operating skills, safety in operation and the quality of the videos submitted. The rankings for the preliminary round are then determined based on both assessments.
Preliminary round and final
For Game of Cranes, we have divided the world into five regions. The top five crane operators from each region qualify for the preliminary round, where they compete on behalf of their company.
The preliminary round takes place at the Liebherr sites using real cranes, real loads and real challenges.
If you win, you’ll fly to Ehingen representing your company to compete against the four finalists from the other regions. The final will be held in 2027 during our customer days. Over 3,000 crane enthusiasts from all over the world will be here, cheering you on.
The current champion, Scott White from City Lifting, will be with you throughout the final and will crown the new winner at the end.
Retrospective of Game of Cranes 2025
Scott White from City Lifting took the number one spot on the podium in 2025. However, this success would be only half as valuable without the impressive efforts of all the other crane operators. Each and every one of them has shown what true strength and skill mean. We’d like to say thank you to everyone who made this competition such an unforgettable event!

With impressive skill, the utmost precision and in-depth specialist knowledge, these five crane operators held their own against strong competition in the regional competitions. Each of them has put in an outstanding performance and has thus earned their place in the grand final.
