Liebherr’s special take on the grabber machine
At Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH, apprentices from multiple disciplines jointly designed and built an interactive exhibit for events and training fairs – based on a classic arcade grabber machine.

Small batch sizes and a wide range of gear types: Terhaerst Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Neunkirchen near Nuremberg has invested in an LC 700 M gear hobbing machine from Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH. The new machine replaces several older units and allows the company to manufacture a broad spectrum of workpieces with significantly shorter processing times.

Gear cutting machines generate vast amounts of valuable data, which can provide users with a key to better process understanding, higher quality and targeted optimization. In practice, however, these potentials often remain untapped: Data is scattered, difficult to access and often not linked in a meaningful way. The Liebherr Data Suite combines a range of integrated software tools into a comprehensive system designed for targeted data usage.

The line runs from bin picking at the start, through several machining stations including gear hobbing, all the way to automatic unloading of finished parts. The result is higher productivity, stable processes, and maximum flexibility.

Bin picking and gear hobbing technology in the production of geared shafts at Rickmeier
From unsorted raw parts to geared pump shafts: with a highly automated production line, Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH has implemented an end-to-end process chain for the pump manufacturer Rickmeier GmbH in Balve.

Efficient solutions for sustainable battery recycling and the circular economy
Electric mobility is on the rise – and with it, the need for efficient solutions for the recycling and reprocessing of high-voltage batteries. Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH has developed LHDismantle, an industrial-grade system for the automated disassembly of high-voltage batteries. Based on this foundation, the company offers solutions ranging from automated unscrewing processes to modular and scalable turnkey systems for disassembly and unloading.

SkiveFinishing® for industrial applications
With SkiveFinishing®, Liebherr has developed a process that sets new standards in the hard finishing of internal gears. Following successful proof of technological feasibility, the focus is now firmly on industrial deployment. The aim is to develop a robust, cost-efficient manufacturing process that combines the highest quality standards with maximum productivity.

LHRobotics.Vision with expanded functionality
Reliable, automated handling of randomly arranged parts is one of the most challenging tasks in industrial automation. It requires precise coordination of vision systems, software, and robotics. The LHRobotics.Vision software makes bin picking possible for a wide range of applications and now has an expanded set of functions.

Production capacity expanded with new plant
Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH has relocated its Chinese production site to new premises in the Yongchuan district of the Chongqing Free Trade Zone, more than doubling its production area in the process. The new site offers ideal conditions for expanding the production of gear hobbing, generating gear grinding, and gear skiving machines for the Chinese market from 2026 onwards.

Research project on energy-optimized production control
With a new photovoltaic system and the PrONergy research project, Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH is working to intelligently integrate production and energy supply.

A modern machine concept for efficient rotor machining
Rotors are used in a wide range of applications – and their importance is growing. At the same time, they are demanding components that require the utmost stability and precision. In the past, they had to be made using special equipment, but now they can also be produced on standard hobbing machines such as the LC 500.
