Liebherr opens new office in Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Fast, good quality service all over the world – this is one of the main factors behind Liebherr's success. To further improve its services for customers in Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries in the Middle East, Liebherr has built a new subsidiary in Dammam, the capital of the "Eastern Province" which was officially opened in November with a large number of customers in attendance.

Liebherr presents the LTM 1250-5.1 five-axle Mobile Crane at Bauma Conexpo India 2016

Liebherr shows the 250-tonne mobile crane LTM 1250-5.1 at Bauma Conexpo India. The LTM 1250-5.1 is the most powerful mobile crane on 5 axles on the market. It is the third crane model on which Liebherr uses its innovative single-engine concept. In addition to a multi-functional folding jib, a 50 m fixed jib is also available. The Liebherr innovations VarioBase® and ECOmode mean that crane operators can use the LTM 1250-5.1 with even more safety and efficiency.

Toscani relocates the Alexander von Humboldt sailing ship using Liebherr cranes

In October the 110 year-old sailing ship, the Alexander von Humboldt, was relocated from Bremen's Europahafen to its final berth on the Schlachte, Bremen's maritime district. The famous sailing ship had previously been converted into an event and hotel vessel. As a result of the limited clearance heights of the bridges, the masts had to be removed before it could be transported and then refitted when it reached its final resting place. Crane contractor Toscani used a Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 mobile crane and a Liebherr HS 853 HD crawler crane for this job.

Safety first – "Open-heart surgery" on a natural gas treatment plant

A job carried out by an LTM 1500-8.1 operated by Hüffermann Krandienst in Northern Germany featured a high level of safety precautions. A refurbished gas flare had to be erected at a height of around 100 metres at the ExxonMobil natural gas treatment plant in Grossenkneten. In addition to the large eight-axle crane, two additional Liebherr mobile cranes were used for the setup and adjustment work.

Liebherr presents LTM 1300-6.2 Mobile Crane at Bauma China

Liebherr presents its 300 tonne mobile crane LTM 1300-6.1 at Bauma China 2016. It is the most powerful 300-tonner available on the mobile crane market. The six-axle crane features a 78 m telescopic boom. On the one hand it is designed as a simple folding jib crane whilst on the other it is the smallest luffing jib crane on the market providing crane operators with a low cost entry point into the luffing jib crane class. The innovative Liebherr single engine drive is used in the LTM 1300-6.2.

1500th Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 mobile crane delivered to Ley-Krane

At the end of September, Gummersbach-based crane contractor Ley-Krane GmbH und Co. KG took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 mobile crane. It was the 1500th unit of Liebherr's 70-tonne crane with a 50-metre telescopic boom. The time-tested 4-axle crane features state of the art crane technology because Liebherr has continuously added the latest technologies it has developed to it. Ley-Krane ordered the LTM 1070-4.2 with the VarioBase® variable support base and remote control.

Colombian crane hire company Potenco expands fleet with used Liebherr LTM 1100-4.1 mobile crane

Since August this year, Colombian crane hire company Potenco is operating an LTM 1100-4.1 from Liebherr in its fleet. Potenco decided to buy a used crane from the manufacturer as a result of Liebherr's quality local customer support. The LTM 1100-4.1 was transferred from Brazil to Colombia using the cross-border collaboration between Liebherr companies.

Liebherr has extended its mobile crane product range with an additional series of rough-terrain cranes in the 90-tonne (100 USt) and 100-tonne (110 USt) classes.

Jaromin adds Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane to its fleet

Autokran-Dienst Jaromin GmbH took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane in September. The 5-axle 250-tonne mobile crane adds to the Oberhausen-based company's crane fleet, extending it upwards. Previously a Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 was the largest crane in the fleet.

Liebherr extends product portfolio with rough-terrain cranes

Liebherr has extended its mobile crane product range with an additional series of rough-terrain cranes in the 90-tonne (100 USt) and 100-tonne (110 USt) classes. The Liebherr Rough-Terrain cranes LRT 1090-2.1 and LRT 1100-2.1 will be unveiled to the public at the Conexpo construction machinery trade show in Las Vegas in March 2017. They feature high performance, safety and comfort.

Liebherr delivers 100th LTM 1750-9.1 to Belgian crane contractor Dufour

During its customer days at its manufacturing plant in June 2012, Liebherr unveiled the 750-tonne LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane. The 100th crane of this type left the plant in Ehingen in July this year. The new crane was handed over by Belgian Liebherr dealer Van Der Spek to crane contractor Dufour Transports et Manutention SA based in Marquain, Belgium. The LTM 1750-9.1 will be a new addition to and the largest mobile crane in the company's fleet. The key feature of Liebherr's 9-axle machine is that the entire telescopic boom can be conveyed on public roads.

Liebherr presents the LTR 1100 telescopic crawler crane at MINExpo. The LTR 1100 has a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tonnes and features a 52-m telescopic boom.

Fanger Kran AG presents the largest crawler crane in Switzerland

Lots of work for the new and largest crawler crane in Switzerland – the new Liebherr LR 1750/2 operated by Fanger proves its worth on its first job

The first job awaiting the new Liebherr LR 1750/2 crawler crane operated by Fanger Kran AG was a demanding one in central Switzerland near Lucerne. The crane had to handle a gross load of around 270 tonnes to replace a 30-metre cylinder. In a very constricted space in the production plant of a manufacturer of wooden materials, the job was only possible by moving the crane whilst it held the load.

Expansion of Barcelona airport with duty cycle crawler cranes from Liebherr

Three Liebherr duty cycle crawler cranes were involved in infrastructural work in the course of the expansion of Barcelona-El Prat Airport.

GTA adds a second 1350-tonne Liebherr crawler crane to its fleet – the first LR 11350 with PowerBoom in Southeast Asia

Indonesian company GTA Construction has been successfully using a Liebherr LR 11350 crawler crane for over a year. GTA has now added another crane of this type to its fleet. The new 1350-tonne crane was ordered with the Liebherr PowerBoom, the first in the whole of Southeast Asia. With its high lifting capacities and compact dimensions, GTA successfully uses the Liebherr heavy duty crane for major projects of the most diverse type.

LTM 11200-9.1 hoists excavators over the roofs of Lyon –S.E Levage places its trust in Liebherr for used cranes as well

Since April this year French crane contractor S.E Levage has been operating the largest telescopic mobile crane in the country, a Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1. S.E Levage decided to buy a used crane. And since buying a used crane involves a good deal of trust, S.E Levage bought direct from the manufacturer, from Liebherr. The LTM 11200-9.1 was completely refurbished and finished in the customer's colours with full livery. Crane driver Christophe Thenery says: "The crane was like new when we took delivery at the Liebherr plant in Ehingen.
