Breithaupt & Philipp expands fleet with a Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane
Breithaupt & Philipp GmbH & Co. KG, based in Hohendodeleben near Magdeburg, has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane. The 5-axle 250-tonne mobile crane expand the companies range of services upwards. The high lifting capacities of the 5-axle crane were one of the main reasons behind the purchase.

Liebherr cranes prominent in Queensferry Crossing construction
Liebherr cranes have had an important part to play in the construction of the new Queensferry Crossing across Scotland’s Firth of Forth. Three Liebherr tower cranes were used to build the Crossing’s three towers with assistance from two Liebherr crawler cranes. Over ten different Liebherr mobile cranes types and products from three Liebherr divisions have been used over the life of the project. Most recently a 500 tonne and a 300 tonne crane Liebherr supplied to long-standing customer Bernard Hunter were used in its contract to dismantle the three Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 tower cranes.

Liebherr puts innovative system into operation for final painting of crawler cranes
Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH is currently putting a new system for the final painting of large crawler crane components into operation. This system corresponds to the latest requirements regarding environmental protection, occupational safety and paint application. Highly effective filters and systems for heat recovery are utilised here. Occupational safety and ergonomics are optimised by mobile work platforms and height securing devices. Liebherr has invested in the state-of-the-art for the technical application and process of paint coating along with the process data logging.

Liebherr LR 13000 crawler crane modernises Mexican oil refinery
As part of the energy reforms in Mexico, the "Miguel Hidalgo" oil refinery in Tula is being modernised. Mexican crane contractor ESEASA, carried out the hoisting work on behalf of construction contractor ICA Flour, using three Liebherr crawler cranes. They included the largest conventional crawler crane in the world, the LR 13000. When the work will be concluded by the end of 2018, the refinery will be able to produce up to 110,000 more barrels of pure petrol and diesel.

Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane hoists boat onto Eiffel Tower gallery
French crane contractor S.E Levage completed a crane job at the Parisian landmark which was both unique and challenging with distinction. Since the end of March an 18-metre regatta boat has been enthroned at a hight of around 60 metres on the gallery of the Eiffel Tower.

Emil Egger AG, a transport and heavy haulage contractor based in Sankt Gallen, has been operating Switzerland's strongest crawler crane for several weeks. A Liebherr crawler crane LR 11000 has recently been supplied from the plant in Ehingen for its first job in Zurich. The 1000 tonne crane will be in service around six months there for the assembly of large reinforced concrete supports.

First Liebherr LTR 1220 Telescopic Crawler Crane for India
NCC Ltd. has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTR 1220 telescopic crawler crane, which is equipped with polyamide pads for operation on metro site. The crane is currently working on the Nagpur Metro project. In this project the crane hoists girders for the two new metro lines which have a total length of 38 km. Thereby the pick and carry characteristics of telescopic crawler crane are a great advantage.

TOPKRAN takes delivery of the first Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane in Russia
Moscow crane rental company TOPKRAN took delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane in April. This is the first crane of this type in Russia. TOPKRAN will primarily use the new crane in the construction of underground railways. The Liebherr 750-tonne machine can lift tunnel drilling machines in a single hoist. Previously two cranes hoisting in tandem were required for this work.

60 tonnes on eight axles – HKV chooses the Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane
In April, Cologne-based crane rental company HKV Schmitz & Partner GmbH took delivery of its second Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane in a year. The company will use the new crane to replace a 7-axle LTM 1400-7.1, to position itself better for the higher requirements for repairing and repowering wind turbines. To improve transport logistics, Liebherr has designed a solution to fit and remove the telescopic boom quickly and easily. That enables the LTM 1500-8.1 to be driven without the boom, reducing its gross weight to less than 60 tonnes. This significantly increases its mobility on public roads.

Knoll expands fleet with a Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane
Knoll GmbH & Co.KG took delivery of an LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane at the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen at the end of March. The 5-axle 250-tonne mobile crane will replace a five-year-old LTM 1220-5.2. The new crane will extend Knoll's range of services upwards.

Flossdorf expands fleet with a Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane
Dietmar Flossdorf GmbH took delivery of an LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane at the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen in mid-March. The 8-axle 500-tonne mobile crane will replace a seven-year-old LTM 1350-6.1. The new crane will extend Flossdorf's range of services upwards. It provides additional job capacity, particularly in the wind power sector where it will primarily be used for repairs and repowering.

Turbines with a hub height of up to 165 metres and component weights of up to 120 tonnes can be erected using the SX system. To date these capacity data were the exclusive domain of cranes in the 1000 tonne class or above.
