Norwest Crane Hire brings first LRT 1100-2.1 to Australia

The Australian company Norwest Crane Hire recently invested in two new cranes: an LTM 1300-6.2 and an LRT 1100-2.1 from Liebherr. The 100-tonne rough-terrain crane is the first of its type anywhere in Australia.

Flexibility in action – two new Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 mobile cranes for Wasel

Wasel GmbH has taken delivery of two new Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 mobile cranes. The crane and heavy haulage contractor based in Bergheim will use the new 110 tonne cranes to replace two LTM 1100-5.2 machines. As a result of the great flexibility of the new Liebherr 5-axle crane, Wasel plans to gradually replace other 100 tonne models in its crane fleet with the LTM 1110-5.1.

Low consumption and high comfort

Salerno Container Terminal SPA, one of the leading Italian terminal operators, relies on Liebherr Port Equipment. SCT operates 10 Liebherr machines, including six Liebherr reachstackers. In addition to the high Liebherr quality, the LRS 545 impressed above all with its low diesel consumption and very good driving characteristics. SCT's reachstacker drivers underline the comfort in the cab and the good view of the load and surroundings.

Trio of new cranes for Welti-Furrer

Swiss company Welti-Furrer has taken delivery of a trio of new cranes from Liebherr. The ensemble comprising an LTC 1050 3.1 compact crane, an LTM 1130-5.1 and an LTM 1160-5.2 will introduce a whole series of technical refinements into the fleet and improve its capacity. Fabian Meier, Managing Director of Heavy Goods Logistics at Welti-Furrer, is impressed by the value for money of Liebherr mobile cranes.

New all-rounder joins the Kran Burgard fleet

The brand new LTM 1110-5.1 from Liebherr is a genuine all-rounder. It has been a member of the Kran- und Bergungsdienst Kran Burgard fleet since July. The Hesse-based company is delighted with the flexibility of the 5-axle crane – the LTM 1110-5.1 features variable axle loads, high lifting capacities with part ballast and efficient set-up processes. This innovative new crane was first unveiled at the Bauma 2019 event. Deliveries of it to customers all over the world started in June this year.

168-tonne steel girders in tandem hoist – two LTM 1500-8.1 cranes install new bridge over the River Lippe

At the start of July three 168-tonne, 58-metre long steel girders were installed over the River Lippe to replace the bridge over the river on the B233 between Werne and Bergkamen in the Ruhr Area. Crane and heavy haulage specialist Autokrane Schares GmbH used two Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile cranes for the challenging hoists.

Complex night shift for six Liebherr cranes

Hanover-based Nolte Autokrane gave an impressive performance recently in its home city with a crane job that took a couple of days. A cantilever connection bridge measuring over 70 metres in length and made up of four components and a number of connecting elements had to be assembled in the air between two buildings of the newly erected headquarters of Continental AG (Conti). This difficult task posed a major challenge from both a crane and logistics point of view.

Heavy load specialist August Alborn purchases Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 mobile crane

August Alborn GmbH & Co. KG has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 mobile crane. The specialist heavy hoisting and haulage contractor purchased the 180 tonne crane for projects involving the handling and assembling of heavy components and large machines. This work features unit weights of up to 65 tonnes. The LTM 1160-5.2 is now the company’s largest crane and largest single investment.

Industrial tent structure moved on crane hooks

Tyrol, a popular destination for mountain and other hikers, was recently the scene of a very special trip – an industrial tent structure weighing over 40 tonnes and spanning an area of around 1,400 square metres “walked” around 100 metres in just a few hours. A large assembly hall was moved to its new location in several stages on the hook blocks of three LTM mobile cranes.

Challenge – Saller’s Liebherr cranes complete difficult bridge hoist at night

Kran Saller GmbH, based in Deggendorf in Bavaria, positioned a component for a pedestrian bridge over a railway track weighing over 60 tonnes using an extraordinary tandem hoist and a massive logistical effort. The difficulty was that the cranes had to be set up for the night job in Munich very close to each other and moved even closer whilst hoisting the load into position.

LR 1800-1.0: First job in wind farm

Colonia Spezialfahrzeuge has received a new Liebherr crawler crane LR 1800-1.0. The Cologne-based company mainly intended to use its new purchase in industry and plant construction as well as for bridge hoists. However, this modern crawler crane first had to tackle a job in a wind farm.

Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 places cupola on Berlin’s Humboldt Forum

An LTM 1500-8.1 owned by Mobi-Hub completed a job in the centre of Berlin in front of a large crowd – the Liebherr crane placed the magnificent cupola on the new Humboldt Forum. The historically reconstructed cupola is decorated with eight angel figures and palm leaves, as well as a lantern and a golden cross. The reconstruction of the destroyed Berlin Palace has been undertaken to restore Berlin’s historic cityscape.

LR 1800-1.0: “One hundred percent variable”

The new Liebherr LR 1800-1.0 crawler crane gets up and going! The first ten units of this highly flexible crawler crane, which can be modified for lots of different sectors, have already been delivered to business partners in Spain, the USA and Asia. One of these powerful industrial cranes has also been delivered to Colonia Spezialfahrzeuge. Mobile crane fleet always state of the art – BKL takes delivery of new LTM 1350-6.1

BKL Baukran Logistik GmbH has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane. This is the third crane of this type in the company’s fleet. The new purchase will support BKL’s strategy of keeping its mobile crane fleet up with the state of the art. Currently, its fleet has an average age of around just 3.5 years.

Sönke Jordt expands range of services with a Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane

North German crane and heavy haulage contractor Sönke Jordt GmbH & Co. KFG has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane. The new 300 tonne crane will help to expand the range of services offered by the fleet. The new purchase marks the company’s entry into the large crane class.

Liebherr mobile cranes erect monument to the “Tailor of Ulm”

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth, a prominent monument has been erected to aviation pioneer Albrecht Ludwig Berblinger. Using two Liebherr mobile cranes, Ulm-based crane and heavy haulage contractor Rieger & Moser GmbH & Co. KG erected a walk-in spiral staircase tower, whose appearance is reminiscent of the “Tailor of Ulm’s” flying machine. The Berblinger Tower is now positioned at precisely the point from where Berblinger attempted to fly over the River Danube in 1811.

“Outstanding in its class” – Kuiphuis praises Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1

Dutch company Kuiphuis Kraanverhuur BV confirms the total practicality of the Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 compact crane. Multiple examples of jobs demonstrate how hoisting work can be carried out safely and efficiently even in extremely restricted conditions.
