Mobile and crawler cranes

Liebherr telescopic crawler cranes

With a full load over any terrain.

Telescopic cranes on crawler travel gear: Over terrain with a high load

The telescopic crawler cranes in the LTR series combine many of the benefits of all-terrain cranes and crawler cranes. The excellent manoeuvrability of the crawler travel gear enables LTR cranes to be used on any terrain.

And what’s more, the crawler travel gear means that unlike all-terrain cranes, no outriggers are required – which means an LTR can also be moved with the load on its hook.

The telescopic boom whose concept has been adopted from all-terrain cranes enables a wide range of radii to be achieved quickly and easily compared to conventional crawler cranes. And what's more, the boom can even be extended and retracted with a load on the hook.

These technical features mean that LTR cranes are enormously flexible in action. Frequent areas of use for them include prefabricated part assembly, long term use in the energy sector, auxiliary crane jobs for erecting wind turbines and even infrastructure projects.

Quickly ready for action

Crane self-erection

Our LTR cranes feature extremely compact dimensions. The crane can be self-erecting as an option. The basic machine is transported to the site on a low loader and the central ballast, cross carrier, crawler carrier and turntable ballast are installed without an auxiliary crane.

Safe and fast

Setting up the crane

The installation of ballast and additional equipment is designed to be quick, safe and convenient. There are access ladders, grab handles and railings to ensure the safety of the operating personnel.

Comfortable and functional

Tilting crane cabin

The crane cabin can be tilted backwards and provides a comfortable, functional workplace. The controls and displays are arranged ergonomically. This ensures safe, fatigue-free operations.

Higher load or less space?

Telescoping crawler carriers

The chassis on LTR cranes can be extended hydraulically to suit different crawler carrier widths. LTR models can complete crane work on all crawler widths and are kept safe by the LICCON overload system. And the track width can be adjusted when the crane is fully set up.

Regardless of position

Crane operations at a lateral angle

The standard programmed lifting capacity tables for crane operations with the main boom or erection jib up to a ground incline of 4° opens up additional possible uses for the machine. The rope pulleys in the boom head and assembly jib are made of steel to ensure that it can still manage large lifting capacities at these gradients.

Even from outside

Working with remote control

LTR cranes and full crane operations are also possible from outside the crane cabin – using our BTT remote control. This can also be used to adjust the crane’s track width.

Liebherr LTR 1060 crawler crane in action high in the Alps

The LTR 1060 telescopic crawler crane put its skills to the test carrying out tunnelling work on the Swiss Gornergrat railway, the second highest mountain railway in Europe. With technical support from the Liebherr specialists it navigated a route beset with gravel, bends, and enormous gradients. This enabled the telescopic crawler crane to demonstrate its off-road capabilities once again in extreme conditions.
