Divisional Director, Concrete TechnologyBurlington, ON
As a key member of the leadership team at Liebherr-Canada, the Divisional Director, Concrete Technology will provide strategic and operational leadership to support the continued growth and success of the division across Canada. This role is responsible for driving sales performance, expanding market presence, strengthening key customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within both traditional and emerging sectors. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven decision-making to support business planning, optimize operational performance, and achieve measurable objectives related to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, quality, safety, reliability, and profitability.
The Divisional Director will also play a critical role in developing a high-performing team and fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture aligned with the company’s core values. This includes leading workforce planning initiatives, supporting employee development, enhancing communication and cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the division has the talent, resources, and operational strategies required for long-term success in a dynamic and evolving industry.
Responsibilities
- Objective Setting: Ability to define measurable outcomes for sales and marketing strategies, including target revenue growth and market share metrics.
- Resource Planning: Proficiency in developing timelines for identifying future resource and competency needs to ensure proactive planning.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Expertise in utilizing data analytics to inform strategy adjustments and operational improvements, fostering a continuous feedback loop.
- Market Diversification: Skills in identifying and targeting specific sectors or markets outside of traditional strong holds for growth, along with developing entry strategies for new markets and Key Accounts.
- KPI Development: Capability to define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customer service, quality, safety, reliability, and profitability.
- Collaboration Enhancement: Experience in implementing initiatives or tools that promote collaboration within a shared services model, such as cross-departmental meetings and collaborative software.
- Communication Planning: Ability to create structured communication plans that include regular updates, feedback mechanisms, and engagement strategies for teams.
- Workforce Diversity and Inclusion: Knowledge of incorporating diversity and inclusion into staffing plans to enhance team dynamics and innovation.
- Employee Development Evaluation: Skills in establishing metrics to assess the effectiveness of employee development initiatives, including training completion and satisfaction scores.
- Core Values Integration: Ability to integrate company core values into daily operations and decision-making processes to reinforce organizational culture.
Competencies
- At least 5 years of experience in a sales management position within the concrete technology or heavy equipment industry.
- In-depth understanding of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape.
- Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and Liebherr factory contacts.
- Strong people management skills with experience coaching, developing, and fostering a diverse and inclusive team environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to engage effectively with customers and utilize CRM tools to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
- Experience leading and implementing change initiatives using methodologies such as Agile or Lean.
- Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences (bilingual in both English and French would be considered an asset).
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for divisional needs.
- Solid understanding of relevant products, technologies, and industry standards to support operational success.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration, build high-performing teams, and motivate employees toward shared goals.
