5 facts about the new wheeled excavators that you didn't know yet

Under the motto ‘Hands on the future’, Liebherr will be showcasing solutions for the construction sites of the future at Bauma 2025. Discover over 70 exhibits and a variety of individual solutions – including the A 909 Compact and the A 911 Compact – at Liebherr's 14,000 m2 booth. The two new models in the nine and eleven tonne classes expand the Liebherr wheeled excavator portfolio. Here are five exciting facts about these extraordinary exhibits.

The first of their kind

For the first time, there will be two wheeled excavators operating in the nine and eleven tonne class. The new wheeled excavators impress with their combination of a well thought-out machine concept and user-friendly operation. They are versatile, comfortable for the driver and combine speed, flexibility in use and user-friendliness for the machine operator.

Compact, flexible and safe

The A 909 Compact and the A 911 Compact are not only the first Liebherr wheeled excavators in this tonne class, but also impress with their compactness. They have a small rear swivelling radius (1.50 m and 1.60 m) and front swivelling radius (2.00 m and 2.10 m). The turning circle dimensions of just 3.86 metres also underline the compactness of the two machines. The same applies to the enveloping circle. In combination with the total weight of 9.7 tonnes for the A 909 and 10.8 tonnes for the A 911, the two wheeled excavators can be used safely and flexibly even in confined spaces.

Customised control is required

The A 909 Compact and the A 911 Compact are equipped with the INTUSI (Intuitive User Interface) operating system, an innovative, adaptive and intuitive operating system.

INTUSI organises the various function categories thematically or situationally into apps that are reminiscent of the operation of a smartphone. This enables the driver to continue working safely and comfortably with the growing number of functions. The new operating concept offers a high degree of individuality for the driver: the arrangement of the functions can be customised and saved in the respective driver profile. This allows higher-level functions to be stored for direct call-up. With the newly created user interface, these can be operated directly for the individually defined, prioritised functions, which provides additional convenience.

Durability

In addition to all the useful features, the small excavators also feature a well thought-out maintenance concept. The durability of the high-quality components ensures low service costs and therefore less downtime for maintenance and servicing. Looking at the entire life cycle of the new wheeled excavators, the total costs from purchase to sale are ultimately at a low level – without compromising on quality. A large number of components are also maintenance-free, meaning that no daily maintenance is required. However, if maintenance is required, the most important parts are accessible from the ground, making maintenance quick, easy and, above all, safe.

Speed

The robust and reliable undercarriage design with integrated travel drive offers the best possible acceleration due to the high tractive force. The resulting high travelling speed reduces the time required for transport. Comfort is also taken care of: The Liebherr standard tyres ensure maximum stability and are available in several versions, such as twin or single tyres (optional). Various so-called speeder versions for the A 909 Compact and the A 911 Compact enable speeds of up to 37km/h to be reached.

You will find the A 909 Compact and the A 911 Compact at the Liebherr booth in the outdoor area at Bauma as well as live in action at the Test & Drive site.
