    Liebherr mobile crane lifts military history exhibit

    Rieger & Moser GmbH & Co. KG from Ulm marked the end of a Sikorsky CH-53's life of service with a special deployment. A Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane lifted the restored helicopter onto pre-prepared concrete supports. This exhibition piece will in future welcome visitors to the Kurt Georg Kiesinger Barracks in Laupheim.

    Rothmund boosts crane fleet with three mobile cranes from Liebherr

    Rothmund GmbH Kran und Montage has extended its crane fleet within the past few months with two Liebherr mobile cranes, an LTM 1030-2.1 and LTM 1350-6.1, as well as a Liebherr telescopic crawler crane LTR 1100. Rothmund set great store by the equipment of the two mobile cranes with the VarioBase®variable support system. These enable Liebherr cranes to deliver increased capacity, thereby making them even safer and more flexible to use.

    At the end of June, ESB Kranverleih Transport und Hebetechnik GmbH based in Mittelbiberach in Upper Swabia, assembled a Liebherr concrete mixing plant using Liebherr mobile cranes. The Betomix 2.5 RIM plant with a mixer size of 2.5 m³ was assembled in a gravel plant just a few kilometres from the Liebherr concrete technology production works in Bad Schussenried.

    The tallest wind turbines in the world: Max Bögl erects modern energy storage unit using Liebherr mobile crane

    The tallest wind turbines in the world are currently being erected near Schwäbisch Hall in the north-east of Baden-Württemberg. The Max Bögl Group is erecting four turbines with a total height of 240 metres which will stand on enormous water basins. The system will be able to generate additional electricity when demand is high through its combination with a pump accumulator power plant in nearby Kocher Valley. A Liebherr mobile crane has now erected the 40-metre high active basins.

    Enormous increase in lifting capacity through new boom variation from Liebherr

    The latest development from the Liebherr crane plant in Ehingen is both innovative and sustainable. The engineers from the Swabian crane manufacturer have taken a quantum leap forwards with the SX boom systems for crane models LR 1750/2 and LG 1750. The improved lifting capacity values resulting from the reinforced lattice booms enables the 750-tonne cranes to lift weights normally reserved for the next higher class of crawler cranes with a 1000-tonne lifting capacity.

    Liebherr receives the order to supply armoured mobile and rescue cranes to the German Army

    On 27 June 2017, Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH received an order from the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) to deliver a total of 71 armoured mobile and recovery cranes worth around 150 million euros. The deliveries are due to start in the second half of next year and be completed by 2021.

    Liebherr cranes have had an important part to play in the construction of the new Queensferry Crossing across Scotland’s Firth of Forth. Three Liebherr tower cranes were used to build the Crossing’s three towers with assistance from two Liebherr crawler cranes. Over ten different Liebherr mobile cranes types and products from three Liebherr divisions have been used over the life of the project. Most recently a 500 tonne and a 300 tonne crane Liebherr supplied to long-standing customer Bernard Hunter were used in its contract to dismantle the three Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 tower cranes.

    Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH is currently putting a new system for the final painting of large crawler crane components into operation. This system corresponds to the latest requirements regarding environmental protection, occupational safety and paint application. Highly effective filters and systems for heat recovery are utilised here. Occupational safety and ergonomics are optimised by mobile work platforms and height securing devices. Liebherr has invested in the state-of-the-art for the technical application and process of paint coating along with the process data logging.

    The Swedish crane rental company A-Lyft has taken delivery of a Liebherr mobile construction crane MK 140 in June. It is the first mobile construction crane of this type in Sweden.
