The LR 11000 from Liebherr packs a punch: higher wind turbines and heavier nacelles

In order to build taller wind turbines with corresponding hub heights and heavier nacelles in the future, the Dutch crane rental company Verschoor decided to acquire a Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane. The company is thus meeting the requirements of wind turbine manufacturers by adding the most powerful crane to date to its fleet.

RIGA MAINZ replaces old railway bridge with Liebherr crawler crane LR 1750/2

The German Railway has renewed a bridge over the Riß in Biberach. A Liebherr crawler crane LR 1750/2 from the crane and heavy haulage company RIGA MAINZ lifted out the old bridge sections and placed the new bridge in two parts, each weighing 285 tons. These were positioned on completely newly built abutments.

The legend grows: New LG 1800-1.0 in the lattice boom crane portfolio

The legendary Liebherr LG 1750 lattice boom crane has a successor: like its predecessor, the LG 1800-1.0 combines the advantages of a mobile crane with the load capacity of a lattice boom crane. The LG 1750 was previously one of the most powerful cranes of its kind on the market – the new LG 1800-1.0 tops this power and will be launched in the first half of 2024 under the motto “The legend grows”.

Liebherr at Excon: solutions for the Indian construction and raw material industry

Excon is the most important construction machinery exhibition in South Asia. From 12–16 December 2023 in Bangalore, Liebherr is presenting five machines from its Earthmoving und Cranes product segments. At the approx. 1000 m2 booth, visitors can see a tower crane, a rough terrain crane, two wheel loaders and a crawler dozer. The exhibited machines offer customised solutions for the construction industry in the Indian market.

Compact crane for vast country: LJP takes delivery of a another Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1

The Canadian company Les Constructions LJP is an expert in concrete formwork. It ensures it receives optimum quality and service from its suppliers. LJP buys construction and mobile cranes exclusively from Liebherr. In October, the management took delivery of an LTC 1050-3.1 compact crane at the manufacturer's plant in Ehingen. It is now the second of this type in the LJP fleet.

Demonstrated its prowess on its very first job – BKL installs concrete slabs with millimetre precision using LTM 1110-5.2

Liebherr has delivered the first ten LTM 1110-5.2 cranes featuring the new LICCON3 crane control to customers in Europe. One of them went to BKL Baukran Logistik GmbH. It has now successfully completed its first job – for building a new construction yard in Freilassing, Upper Bavaria, the 110 tonne crane with the new LICCON3 control installed concrete facade slabs carefully and with millimetre precision.

40 tonne crane replaced: Kran & Transport Lausitz take delivery of new Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1

After 13 years of reliable service, Kran & Transport Lausitz GmbH has replaced a Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1 mobile crane with a new machine of the same type. Liebherr has continuously kept its 40 tonne crane up to date over the years by including innovative technologies, such as VarioBase®, ECOmode and ECOdrive.

This service is available in various countries. Liebherr wins Heavy Lift Award in the Innovation category

The winners of the Heavy Lift Awards 2023 were announced at an awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 25 October. Liebherr was honoured in the "Innovation" category for its new LR 12500-1.0 2,500-tonne crawler crane.

Stable and strong in the wind – Liebherr power hits the road

In October, Austrian crane hire company Felbermayr sent its new Liebherr LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane to a wind farm in the east of the country. A defective gearbox on a wind turbine had to be replaced on a mountain ridge at an altitude of almost 1,600 metres. Despite gusts of up to thirteen metres per second, the crane was able to replace the twelve-tonne component in the nacelle at a height of around 65 metres.

Liebherr mobile crane erects “Ottifant” artwork in Hamburg

Covering an area of 2,000 square metres, the Global Gate offers an enormous exhibition platform for artists. Consisting of sea containers arranged in the shape of the Brandenburg Gate, the installation offers artists the opportunity to present their works in a public space. The Global Gate was erected and crowned with four “Ottifants” – cartoon elephants in the comic style of Otto Waalkes – with help from the latest addition to the fleet of Hanseatic crane rental company Knaack – a Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1.

Cost-efficient crane operation with mobile construction cranes from Liebherr

The days when construction site machines could only run on diesel are over. Liebherr’s mobile construction cranes are no longer limited to fossil fuels. HVO, an alternative fuel, can be used for travel from one location to the next. Site electricity or a mobile battery-based energy storage system are options for supplying power once the crane arrives at its destination.

150-tonne lifting capacity: Liebherr expands its telescopic crawler crane line-up with the LTR 1150

Liebherr has expanded its range of telescopic crawler cranes with a new 150-tonne machine. The LTR 1150 is positioned exactly between the LTR 1100 and the LTR 1220. Although the new crane offers around 50 per cent more lifting capacity than the LTR 1100, it can be transported just as easily and economically as its 100-tonne sibling – complete with crawler carriers at a total weight of 60 tonnes and a transport width of 3.5 metres, or optionally without crawler carriers at a total weight of just 38 tonnes and a width of only 3.0 metres. The LTR 1150 is the first telescopic crawler crane to be equipped with the Liebherr VarioBase^®, which enables the crane control to determine the optimum load capacity depending on the track width and angle of rotation.

A Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 heads to Saudi Arabia: RISAL invests in a used crane

The Saudi Arabian company RISAL has taken delivery of a used Liebherr mobile crane: the LTM 1120-4.1, built in 2022, represents the start of a long-standing partnership. The 120-tonne crane is the most powerful 4-axle mobile crane on the market and also has the longest telescopic boom in its class. At RISAL, the Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 will be used for loading work.

Wasel modernises its crane fleet with innovative and powerful Liebherr cranes

WASEL GmbH continues to modernise its crane fleet with Liebherr mobile and crawler cranes. The subsidiary of the Hagedorn Group recently took delivery of an LTM 1750-9.1 and an LTM 1110-5.2. Deliveries of an LTM 1100-5.3 and an LTC 1050-3.1E, a compact crane with an additional electric crane drive, are imminent. WASEL has already signed the order for its third LR 11000 crawler crane. In addition to performance, both innovation and sustainability are the focus of its fleet upgrade programme.

Midwest lifting company, Stevenson Crane, Rigging, and Heavy Haul (Stevenson) continue to rebuild Chicago’s industrial areas with their expansive fleet and specialized support equipment. Utilizing Liebherr’s LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane, Stevenson supported the rebuild of the Server Farm Data Center based out of Chicago, IL.

Exceptional performance: Sistermi chooses Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1

The high reliability, strong lifting capacities and modern technologies of the Liebherr mobile crane were the main factors in the purchase decision of the Brazilian crane contractor Sistermi for the LTM 1250-5.1. The 5-axle crane will be used in chemical, petrochemical, steel, mining and pulp industries, operating in assembly and industrial maintenance.
