BluRoX – our innovative vacuum perlite technology
Welcome to the future of refrigeration and freezing technology. Our pioneering BluRoX technology combines finely ground volcanic rock (perlite) with vacuum insulation. This enables long-lasting energy efficiency as well as a significant increase in the freezing volume with the same exterior dimensions. Unlike conventional insulation, our patented BluRoX technology provides low thermal conductivity, which significantly reduces energy consumption and gives a new outlook on sustainable fridges and freezers.
With the aim of developing a circular economy, BluRoX technology creates the foundation for a product concept that makes repairs easier and takes into account the reuse of components. This means that, as early as the product development stage, the conditions are created for longer use and for materials to remain in the circular economy.

FNXa 522i – the first Cradle to Cradle Certified® freezer
Made from volcanic rock and having been developed over the course of a decade, the FNXa 522i brings together all of the benefits of our BluRoX technology. Through the unique combination of vacuum insulation and perlite, the FNXa 522i achieves the highest energy efficiency class A and offers 30 percent more storage space compared to traditional freezers with identical exterior dimensions. In addition, the refrigeration module in the base makes maintenance easy. Thanks to its circular product design, all of the components in the FNXa 522i can be reused, which has earnt it Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze status. Our freezer is designed for environmentally conscious consumers and points the way to a future that is not linear, but cyclical.

NoFrost
When you open your freezer, you want to see frozen food – and certainly not ice and frost. NoFrost protects the freezer from unwanted icing, which consumes a lot of energy and can be expensive. NoFrost means no more tedious and time-consuming defrosting of the freezer, more time for other things – and saving money.
SuperSilent
Shhh – listen carefully. Your Liebherr is so quiet that you have to strain your ears to hear it. How is this achieved? All refrigeration components such as compressors, valves, fans and evaporators are optimised and perfectly adapted to one another. This means you only hear what you want to hear in your kitchen.
EasyOpen
Done this before? After putting all the shopping in the freezer you remember an item of food you have forgotten – and have to give the door a good pull to open it again. With your Liebherr, you don't need to do this. EasyOpen means the door can be opened multiple times one after another, conveniently and easily.
FrostProtect
Not all freezers are fitted in heated rooms. Some are located in cold garages or sheds. It’s good then that your Liebherr is ideally set up for such a cool environment because all components are designed to operate in ambient temperatures as low as -15 °C.
LED lighting
The LED lighting illuminates the interior from above – offering a pleasant illumination and a clear view of your freezer drawers. This makes it even easier for you to find the food you want. Another highlight: the energy-efficient LEDs are positioned to ensure optimal lighting, even when the freezer is fully stocked.
SmartDeviceBox integrated
Your Liebherr may be standing in your home — but if you wish, it can also go online: The integrated SmartDeviceBox gives you access to the world of smart home connectivity. Just activate it and connect your appliance to the internet via Wi-Fi.
SpaceBox
Accommodate the “big stuff” in your Liebherr: An XL turkey or a multi-layered ice cream cake simply needs more space. Your Liebherr has the SpaceBox for exactly that purpose: with a generous height of 250 mm, it offers plenty of extra room—even for large frozen goods. And that helps you store your supplies flexibly.
SuperFrost
Want to freeze your fresh food in a way that preserves vitamins? Simply activate SuperFrost – and your freezer will increase its cooling capacity. In this way, the temperature remains constant when you place in unfrozen food. SuperFrost is also resource-conscious: if you don't switch off the function manually, it automatically deactivates itself after 72 hours.
TouchControl
With a gentle tap, you activate clever features like SuperFrost or easily adjust the freezer temperature. All functions are clearly arranged and intuitive to use. And for even greater convenience, this Liebherr can be controlled via app – thanks to its integrated SmartDevice technology.
VarioSpace
Looking for somewhere to safely store a multi-tiered ice cream cake until the summer party? No problem for your Liebherr: it knows that sometimes you just need more space. Thanks to VarioSpace, you can simply remove individual freezer drawers – and voilà: here’s your extra-high storage space!
FrostProtect
In order to ensure that the freezers operate perfectly even at low ambient temperatures, the appliances are designed with FrostProtect to be particularly suitable for low temperatures down to -15 °C. If the ambient temperature falls below +10 °C they continue to work efficiently. Consequently, the appliances can also be placed in unheated rooms, such as in the garage.
