Megalift GmbH will receive three new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes within three months. Company proprietor Bernd Preusse says that the VarioBallast® on this crane model was a major criterion behind the purchase. The three new 250-tonne machines will add to Megalift's Fleet at its site in Bremen and close the gap between the LTM 1200-5.1 and the LTM 1350-6.1. Megalift has also ordered a LTM 11200-9.1 which will be delivered in summer 2017.

The LTM 1250-5.1 cranes were ordered with a full range of equipment and will be used for industrial installation work. Bernd Preusse explains: "Highly flexible machines are very important for our day-to-day business. Liebherr's VarioBallast® delivers exactly this flexibility. It also reduces the number of ballast transport runs we have to make." The LTM 1250-5.1 can be operated with two different ballast radii: 5.58m or 4.78m. The ballast radius is reduced by 800mm using standard mechanically adjusted ballasting cylinders.

The LTM 1250-5.1 is the most powerful mobile crane on 5 axles on the market. Liebherr has once again used its innovative single-engine concept on this crane model. In addition to a multi-functional folding jib, a 50m fixed jib is also available. The Liebherr innovations VarioBase® and ECOmode mean that crane operators can use the new LTM 1250-5.1 with even more safety and efficiency.

Owner-managed Megalift GmbH was founded in 2002 and specialises in crane rental and heavy haulage. The company currently has a workforce of 30 people and has 16 mobile cranes ranging from lifting capacities of 35 to 750 tonnes in its fleet. The company has successfully established itself in the marketplace by consistent customer focus and a high level of flexibility.
