In 2014, SOMTP, dealer of the Liebherr earthmoving division, started business in Belgium. After having inaugurated some company buildings in Namur on March 11, SOMTP disposes now of a total area of 8500m² on which there is a workshop of 600m² and an office building of 500m².
The site in Wallonia is a key element of the strategic partnership between the Liebherr earthmoving division and its dealer SOMTP which started business in France in 1969 and in Tunisia in 2010.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Jan Liebherr (Liebherr-International AG), Martin Schickel, David Diss (management board of Liebherr-France SAS) and Rudolf Arnold (management board of Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH).
With its new site in Namur, SOMTP continues its objective to be closer to the customer. Further investments in infrastructure and personal are planed: For this, SOMTP has recently bought a property close to Gand.
