Liebherr has already sold ten machines of the newly launched R 9200 mining excavator. Three of these machines were purchased by PT Darma Henwa, a customer from Indonesia. The symbolic handover took place at the Bauma exhibition stand in Munich, Germany.
Although Liebherr only unveiled the R 9200 mining excavator to the public for the first time at Bauma 2016, the family-owned company has already sold ten of the new 200-tonne machines. Dr. Jörg Lukowski, Managing Director of Sales at Liebherr-Mining Equipment Colmar SAS explained, “The initial field test and the customer feedback from machines in operation thus far confirmed excellent productivity with lower fuel consumption. And if you have a walk around on the machine you will note how proper and tidy the machine is designed. These elements paired together have created a high interest in the new R 9200 machine, of both, existing and new customers”.
The Indonesian company PT Darma Henwa ordered three machines alone, which were symbolically handed over by Sophie Albrecht to CEO Wachjudi Martono at the Liebherr exhibition stand.
"The Liebherr team in Indonesia is always very involved and provides us with excellent support. This support characterises our relationship with the Liebherr Group very well", stated Wachjudi Martono, praising the relationship between the two companies. PT Darma Henwa's fleet of machines already includes two R 9100’s, two R 9350’s and one R 984 C. The three R 9200 mining excavators are to be utilized in coal mining applications.
Dr. Jörg Lukowski added: “We are all delighted with this package order. It confirms the trust of PT Darma Henwa in our products and services and affirms the development of a strong relation between our companies on a local and corporate level.”

Liebherr-Canada delivers new R 9150 excavator to Hammerstone Quarry
In June, Hammerstone Infrastructure Materials took delivery of an R 9150 excavator. This delivery brings Hammerstone’s number of these 150-tonne-class Liebherr excavators to three, with all of these machines working at Hammerstone’s Muskeg Quarry, one of Western Canada’s biggest limestone quarries.

Liebherr-Australia commemorates the opening of its new training centre in Western Australia
Liebherr-Australia held a customer evening at its new training centre in Perth, Western Australia, late last month to celebrate its official opening. The new facility includes three dedicated training rooms equipped with different simulators and a 1,250 m2 workshop for practical training. Customers and industry peers were able to experience training simulators and other cutting-edge training technology throughout the evening.
