New flagship for Yueh Hsin: LTM 1650-8.1 travels to Taiwan
- 8-axle model now the largest crane in the Yueh Hsin fleet
- VarioBallast®, VarioBase® and high lifting capacities were key
- Reliable service and high resale value
At the end of June, Yueh Hsin from Taiwan took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane from Liebherr. To receive the new acquisition in person, the management travelled to the manufacturing plant in Ehingen. The new 8-axle model is now the most powerful machine in the crane specialist’s fleet. The mobile crane’s high lifting capacities, together with VarioBallast® and VarioBase®, were the key criteria behind the purchase.
With the new LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane from Liebherr, the crane company Yueh Hsin is making a targeted investment in the future. “The competition in crane hire in the 500-tonne class is tough - there are currently around 40 LTM 1500-8.1 models on the market”, says Tim Wang, Deputy Managing Director at Yueh Hsin. “This is why we are deliberately opting for a model that not only delivers more performance, but is also versatile in use.” The LTM 1650-8.1 will in future carry out lifting work in the 700-tonne class and further strengthen the company's position on the market.
VarioBallast® and VarioBase® on board
In addition to the 8-axle mobile crane’s tremendous load capacity, innovative technologies such as VarioBallast® and VarioBase® were crucial in the decision to purchase the LTM 1650-8.1. VarioBallast® allows fast and simple adjustment of the ballast radius, optimises the load capacity and reduces the footprint required - translating into a clear advantage on narrow construction sites. In addition to this, VarioBase® offers a variable, asymmetrical support that allows static stability on uneven surfaces.
Service and value retention win the day
When it comes to service and cost effectiveness too, Liebherr has proven itself to be an ideal partner. “For us, Liebherr is the ideal choice. Both the quality of the cranes and the exceptional customer service impress us”, says Wang, adding: “Another plus point is the high value retention and the attractive resale value of Liebherr mobile cranes. This gives us the security of knowing that our investment is a sound and cost-effective one in the long term too.” The first mission is already scheduled: the LTM 1650-8.1 will celebrate its début and demonstrate its performance on the construction of a new semiconductor production plant.
The Taiwanese crane company Yueh Hsin, based in Tainan City, currently employs 120 people and has a fleet of 60 cranes in total, 18 of them from Liebherr. Yueh Hsin’s core areas of activity include industry, the IT sector, chemical refineries, construction and projects in the energy sector.
