Liebherr-Transportation Systems opens maintenance workshop in London

Liebherr-Transportation Systems has recently opened a maintenance workshop in London (UK). The new station is in charge of servicing Liebherr HVAC systems that are on board the trains of various rail lines in Greater London, such as Stansted Express, Southern Railways oder Thameslink.

The station, which is 900 m² in area, houses not only a repair workshop, but also an inventory for spare parts. A team of field service technicians ensures that the systems function flawlessly throughout the operating hours of the trains, thus allowing for optimized reliability and operation costs. The new maintenance workshop complements Liebherr’s existing facility based in Sunderland, which coordinates Liebherr-Transportations Systems’ activities in the UK. Since the workshop is located in close proximity to rail operators in London, the company will achieve reduced transport and turn-around times for repair and overhaul activities and enhance its customer service for HVAC systems.
