High-performance material handling technology at Spedition Trettin

The waste management company Spedition Trettin relies on high-performance Liebherr machines to carry out its material handling and loading activities efficiently. Two Liebherr wheel loaders and a material handling excavator reliably sort, separate and load recyclable materials and waste. Various attachments ensure a wide range of possible applications. An L 550 XPower wheel loader and a mobile material handling machine LH 22 M Industry Litronic handle part of the material handling on the site. The XPower wheel loader feeds construction waste into the sorting systems and then loads the sorted material into lorries. Together with the wheeled excavator, the XPower wheel loader loads large-volume vehicles with light-fraction waste. In addition, an L 521 wheel loader manufactured in 1990 is also in use and performs various tasks. This underlines the long service life of Liebherr components, which impress with their high levels of quality and reliability.

Fuel savings because of the power-split XPower travel drive

The fuel efficiency of the XPower wheel loader generation is due to the power-split XPower travel drive. At low speeds and for short loading manoeuvres, the hydrostatic drive takes charge, whereas at higher speeds and on uphill stretches, the mechanical drive is active. Together, the two drives always transmit 100 percent of the diesel engine power; only the ratio of the two drives changes. This means that the wheel loader always operates at maximum performance and with optimal efficiency, regardless of the application. The result is fuel savings of up to 30 percent compared to conventionally driven wheel loaders.

The optional Solidlink quick-change system adds further convenience for the operator, allowing the hydraulic attachment tools to be changed directly from the operator's cab within seconds. This fully automatic change, taking place at the push of a button, also leads to improved work performance.
