Proven in operation, impressive on trial: Liebherr telescopic handlers at Höpperger
Family-owned company Höpperger relies on the Liebherr T 33-7s telescopic handler and puts the new 8-metre class to the test at its waste management facility in Pfaffenhofen

At the waste management facility of Höpperger GmbH in Pfaffenhofen, Tyrol, approximately 100,000 tonnes of waste are collected, sorted and prepared for recycling each year. For two years now, the Liebherr T 33-7s telescopic handler has been a reliable part of the daily operation, delivering versatility, efficiency and innovative technology. In addition, Höpperger had the opportunity to trial the new Liebherr T 48-8s on site. The greater lift height and extended reach proved particularly advantageous when loading trucks, giving the team a hands-on insight into the capabilities of the new machine class.

Founded in 1965, Höpperger is a family-run business with a long-standing commitment to sustainable waste management solutions in Tyrol. Now in its third generation, the company employs over 180 people and processes a significant share of the region's waste volume in state-of-the-art facilities – from electronic waste and food residues to coffee capsules and lightweight packaging. In daily operations, the Liebherr T 33-7s handles a wide range of tasks: from loading and feeding material into containers to pushing out and sorting plastic bales. The telescopic handler is particularly effective in the tighter areas of the facility. The tight turning circle and the hydrostatic drive system enable efficient yet sensitive handling, even in challenging conditions.
You just have to pick up the phone and they're there – Liebherr service is something you can truly rely on.
About the T 33-7s
The job

Fritz Reinhold, who operates the telescopic handler every day, particularly values its low noise level and smooth ride. The ability to switch between a fast and a slow drive mode makes a real difference in the daily workflow: in fast mode, the machine covers distances across the yard quickly, while the slower mode allows for precise movements when sorting and stacking plastic bales. Equally important is the machine's high reliability – especially in the waste management industry, where downtime can quickly disrupt the entire operation. "The fact that it just keeps running is fantastic!" Fritz Reinhold emphasises. And should support ever be needed, the Liebherr service team responds quickly and without complication.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Höpperger does. By deploying cutting-edge technology and regionally manufactured machines such as the Liebherr T 33-7s, the company conserves resources and ensures efficient processes. The precise sorting and processing of recyclable materials makes an important contribution to environmental protection and the circular economy. "Our employees contribute every day to developing and implementing innovative solutions that conserve our natural resources," the company states. In this way, Höpperger combines commercial success with social responsibility.
The Liebherr T 33-7s has established itself as an indispensable asset in Höpperger's daily waste management operations. Manoeuvrability, comfort and reliability convince both operator and company alike, making a valuable contribution to sustainable and efficient waste management in Tyrol.
