LTM 11200-9.1 mobile crane assembles special Liebherr construction crane for Max Bögl energy storage project

Tower cranes were assembled in September on the natural electricity storage site at Gaildorf, an innovative energy storage project being completed by the Max Bögl Group in southern Germany. The contractor erected the highest wind turbines in the world there. Max Bögl is combining the wind turbines with a pumped-storage power plant. A Liebherr mobile crane was used to assemble the 630 EC-H top-slewing cranes from the same manufacturer. On the site near Schwäbisch Hall, the LTM 11200-9.1 assembled the three massive construction cranes on the 40-metre high foundations of the wind turbines which are also used as water storage basins.

Fascinating crane backdrop in Vienna

An urban development project is currently underway in the Second Municipal District of Vienna – the Austria Campus with a gross floor area of around 303,000 square metres. Around 20 Liebherr EC-H and EC-B tower cranes are in action on the site to ensure smooth load handling.

Liebherr cranes prominent in Queensferry Crossing construction

Liebherr cranes have had an important part to play in the construction of the new Queensferry Crossing across Scotland’s Firth of Forth. Three Liebherr tower cranes were used to build the Crossing’s three towers with assistance from two Liebherr crawler cranes. Over ten different Liebherr mobile cranes types and products from three Liebherr divisions have been used over the life of the project. Most recently a 500 tonne and a 300 tonne crane Liebherr supplied to long-standing customer Bernard Hunter were used in its contract to dismantle the three Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 tower cranes.

Technology meets art – two Liebherr tower cranes build stage set in Bregenz

Liebherr is a construction partner to the Bregenz Festival: Two Liebherr tower cranes constructed the lake platform. The 154 EC-H 6 Litronic was specially anchored to the bed of Lake Constance for the opera "Carmen", while the 71 K has been owned by the Festival since 2000.

Montréal: Liebherr tower cranes stand above entrance into the Olympic Stadium

During the extensive renovation of the Montréal Tower, the Liebherr tower crane models 630 EC-H and 710 HC-L are partnering together for an ideal job site performance. The tower cranes are being used for the addition of office space, a refurbished observatory and state-of-the-art lighting. Extended custom guyings were used to safely secure the 630 EC-H high-top tower crane to the building.

The Liebherr Tower Cranes Division planned and completed a job for a 1000 EC-H 50 Litronic in Schelklingen down to the very last detail. A new klinker production line is currently being built there whilst the cement works continues to operate normally.

Acquisition of another airport project: 23 Liebherr tower cranes in Santiago de Chile

After the largest single order in the history of the Liebherr Tower Cranes Division, the "İstanbul Yeni Havalimanı", another airport project has now been acquired: A total of 23 cranes from the EC-B series will be used for the expansion of the "Santiago Nueva Pudahuel International" in Chile. The first of these tower cranes will be delivered before the end of 2016 and all 23 will remain installed at the airport until 2019.

Liebherr tower cranes in action erecting the highest building in Europe

A total of ten Liebherr tower cranes owned by rental company Sutek are currently in action for contractor Renaissance Construction, erecting the Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, Russia. The construction project includes what will be the highest building in Europe, the Lakhta Tower, and an adjoining multi-purpose building. Three 710 HC-L 32/64 Litronic and one 357 HC-L 12/24 Litronic luffing jib cranes are being used for the construction work on the tower. Three 357 HC-L 12/24 Litronic luffing jib cranes and three 280 EC-H 12 Litronic High-Top cranes are in action on the multi-purpose building.
