Trio of Liebherr mobile cranes scales mountains

Austrian crane and heavy haulage contractor Felbermayr has erected a wind farm on a range of medium-height mountains in Styria. The 13 turbines made by Enercon were completed over the summer months. Transporting the turbine components to the site at an altitude of 1700 metres presented the main challenge to the Felbermayr teams.

The new PR 766 crawler tractor offers the best conditions for continuing the success story of Liebherr crawlers in the 50 tonne category. With operating weights of between 46,200 kg and 54,200 kg, the PR 766 is the successor model to the successful PR 764. The latest model in the crawler tractor generation is driven by a powerful 310 kW (422 hp) 8-cylinder V-engine.

Delivery of first Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane

Liebherr delivered the first LTM 1450-8.1 at the start of October. It went to Gummersbach-based crane contractor Ley-Krane GmbH und Co. KG, which has added the new 450-tonne mobile crane to its fleet.

A new Liebherr wheel loader, the L 576 XPower®, recently began operation for Hans Dömkes GmbH, a company rich in tradition. This specialist firm, in the building materials recycling business, mentions the low fuel consumption and excellent build quality of the Liebherr wheel loaders as important criteria for the purchase. “Our new L 576 XPower® moves around 1,500 tonnes of material a day. Despite the particularly harsh operating conditions, it needs just 15.5 litres of diesel per hour of operation,” enthuses Managing Director Udo Dömkes. The aim of the project is to remove deposited sediment from the mouth of the port and also to increase the depth of the water. For this purpose the hybrid duty cycle crawler crane is equipped with a hydraulic clamshell grab with a filling capacity of 22 m³.
