Foundation stone laid for Liebherr production facility in Saudi Arabia

New site in King Abdullah Economic City strengthens German-Saudi industrial cooperation and local production capabilities.

On 2 February 2026, Liebherr marked the start of construction of its new production facility in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia. The foundation stone laying ceremony was led by H.E. Katherina Reiche, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, and represents a key milestone in the long-standing partnership between Liebherr and the Juffali.

Strengthening local production and cooperation

With the foundation stone now laid, Liebherr is taking an important step towards establishing local production capacities in Saudi Arabia. The new facility combines local expertise with German engineering and manufacturing know-how, while meeting global Liebherr standards. A strong focus is placed on knowledge transfer, supporting the long-term development of skilled local capabilities.
