Liebherr bids farewell to Bauma for now

Across an impressive five exhibition areas at Bauma 2025, Liebherr showcased a wide range of solutions, technologies and 70 or so exhibits. Always with the objective of beguiling exhibition visitors, customers and partners with the fruits of the Liebherr team’s labours. On Sunday, Liebherr employees signalled the end of another successful Bauma week by sounding the horns, as is tradition.

The groundbreaking ceremony on 1 November 2024 marked the start of a six-month preparation phase for the Group to bring together a spectacular exhibition appearance at the world-leading fair in Munich. The exhibition opened its doors to the public on 7 April 2025. Over the course of the Bauma week, between 1,500 and 2,000 Liebherr employees took to the exhibition booth to greet visitors and introduce them to products and ideas for the construction site of tomorrow. Eight of the Group’s 13 product segments displayed their products to the international audience – with several unveiling world and European exclusives. As well as the exhibition spaces for the product segments, the Liebherr booth presented a series of live demonstrations, giving visitors the chance to get up close to construction machines in action.

The InnovationLab also played host to pioneering concepts from various Liebherr product segments. Through all these channels, the number one aim was to showcase the variety of technologies and solutions being researched and developed.

Those who came to learn more about Liebherr as an employer needed look no further than the career lounge and the Think Big area! The ICM booth gave young starters and industry experts alike the chance to find out more about the breadth of jobs available at Liebherr, discover fields of work that might interest them and pick the brains of current employees.

Now it is time to bid farewell

‘Hands on the future.’ This is more than just this year’s Liebherr motto for Bauma. It neatly captures the attitude of the Group as a whole: for months, Liebherr employees worked all hands on deck to get up and running for the exhibition and to show everyone how Liebherr plans to approach the future – namely hand in hand with its customers and partners.

On Sunday 13 April, Bauma 2025 opened its doors to visitors for the last time. In the afternoon, all Liebherr employees on the booth gathered together to mark the end of a truly successful exhibition week. This was done by sounding the horns, as is tradition for Liebherr. For this, the Liebherr exhibits were once again front and centre: with a simultaneous (and loud) honk of the horns, the team bade farewell to Bauma. But this isn’t goodbye, of course, just ‘Auf Wiedersehen’! Liebherr has been a familiar sight at Bauma for more than 70 years; and in three years’ time, when the exhibition returns for Bauma 2028, Liebherr will be there once more.

Voices from Bauma

Once again, Bauma was an unforgettable experience for Liebherr employees in 2025. In their own words, some of the employees summarise what they liked best:

“For me, Bauma is a team effort. We work together with colleagues from all over the world for our appearance at Bauma. It's always great to see how everything comes together in the end and how the commitment of each colleague leads to this: an impressive appearance at Bauma.”

“Rarely before Bauma has focused so much on the topics of climate neutrality or sustainable construction as in 2025. It makes me incredibly proud that we were able to make a significant impact at Bauma with our electrified cranes and specialised civil engineering machines.”

“I love to be at Bauma because I can be at the at the pulse of time here, to discover innovations and to create visions. Bauma is also an opportunity to exchange ideas directly with colleagues from all over the world.”

“Bauma is always impressive: In 2025, Liebherr's product highlights are clearly the autonomous wheel loader, but also the mining machines and the partnership with Fortescue. The central topics are digitalisation, alternative drives and partnership. We are presenting all of these here at our booth”

“My highlight are the encounters with customers and partners at the booth and the resulting personal interactions! Because that's what it's all about for us: we want to lay a hand on the future together with our customers - just like our motto says: Hands on the future! That's what makes a trade fair like Bauma truly special!”

“To me, Bauma is all about networking and the atmosphere! It's always exciting to talk to customers and get to know their perspective. Furthermore, it is a great possibility to see what's new in the industry right now!”

“The great weather, but also the happy faces of the visitors are a highlight for me! It's amazing to experience this Bauma world live for the first time.”

“It is my 11th Bauma this year and it will be my last time as well. This is why there is a bit of melancholy, too. But you quickly forget that, because there is always an improvement on the last time: every Bauma is more impressive than the one before: the exhibits, the streams of visitors and of course the Liebherr booth!”
