From October 19 to 20, 2026, Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS hosted its first Sustainability Days at its headquarters site in Toulouse (France). The event provided a platform for presentations, discussions, and practical insights into some of today’s key strategic and operational challenges.
The program covered a wide range of topics, including supply chain integration and associated risks, emerging sustainability trends, and corporate responsibility. Participants also explored eco-design, sustainability reporting, and initiatives to support progress across the transportation sector.
The Toulouse site took center stage during the event. A themed tour offered participants a closer look at local activities and infrastructure, focusing on areas such as energy and water management.
“Decarbonization requires clear responsibilities and implementation procedures,” said Lejla Halilovic, Director of Corporate Responsibility at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS. “We are working internally on concrete measures to reduce CO2 emissions, prioritizing costs and, above all, feasibility - which are then incorporated into a roadmap and tracked. To achieve this, we are bringing together experts from the relevant departments.”
A keynote presentation by Emile Colongo, Head of Procurement Strategy & Central Services at Airbus Atlantic, offered a customer perspective on Airbus’ approach to procurement sustainability.
The Sustainability Days are planned as an annual initiative, with a different Liebherr location hosting each year. The program will reflect local priorities and current challenges relevant to the respective site.
Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS is committed to acting responsibly towards the environment, society and its business partners. Legal requirements should not only be met, but ideally exceeded, and ways as well as means must continuously be sought to actively contribute to responsible business practices.
Completing assessments through platforms such as CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) and EcoVadis is one way to demonstrate how an Original Equipment Manufacturer can meet applicable sustainability requirements. Just recently, Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS was ranked among the top 15% of all evaluated companies in the aerospace industry and thus qualified for the EcoVadis Silver Medal.
We are working internally on concrete measures to reduce CO2 emissions, prioritizing costs and, above all, feasibility - which are then incorporated into a roadmap and tracked. To achieve this, we are bringing together experts from the relevant departments.
