Reliability that impresses: Bluway launches new Liebherr 3-axle crane for Casais in Angola

The new LTM 1050-3.1 joined the Casais fleet in January 2025. The company, which is based in Angola in south-west Africa, specialises in the construction of buildings, infrastructure and roads and employs around 3,000 people. The new LTM 1050-3.1 is the only crane in the company's fleet apart from the 36-year-old mobile crane. “Among other things, the LTM 1050-3.1 will perform lifting tasks during the assembly of tower cranes, support maintenance work on railway lines and handle large water pipelines,” explains Paulo Alves, Chief Operating Officer of Casais Angola. He continues: “By investing in the new crane, we are significantly increasing our own capacity and productivity. We can design processes efficiently and independently without rented third-party machines, minimise downtimes and increase our productivity. Versatile and powerful: LTM 1050-3.1

The LTM 1050-3.1 is a versatile and economical taxi crane. When driven on public roads, it can carry the majority of its ballast or its double folding jib. This means that the 3-axle vehicle is quickly ready for use. It offers a maximum lifting capacity of 50 tonnes. The 38 meter long telescopic boom can be extended with a 16 metre long double folding jib to reach a maximum hook height of 54 metres. “We opted for the LTM 1050-3.1 because of its quality, its powerful performance and its great versatility,” Paulo Alves also emphasises. “With its reach, lifting capacity and compact dimensions, it is ideally suited to carrying out the required lifting tasks effectively in our terrain conditions.” Another key feature that spoke in favour of investing in the Liebherr crane is its durability and value retention.
