The activities combined theory and practice: at the demonstration site, Liebherr showcased the various set-up configuration options of the MK 88 Plus and demonstrated its operation with the jib in a horizontal position and at angles of 15°, 30° and 45°. The focus was also on the mobile construction crane’s power supply: the mobile construction crane can be powered either from the mains or via the integrated diesel generator.
Theory and practice in harmony
Live demonstrations and technical discussions gave participants a practical insight into the technical capabilities of the MK 88 Plus. The Liebherr crane operators, together with the teams from the Liebherr Academy and the Services division, used specific examples from the field to demonstrate how the mobile construction crane can be adapted to meet a variety of requirements on site. Through its training programmes, the Liebherr Academy imparts in-depth knowledge of products, applications and services.
Flexibility based on the taxi crane principle
As the ideal complement to Liebherr mobile cranes, the MK series broadens the range of applications available to crane hire companies. Designed as taxi cranes, these machines are ready for use in no time at all and can handle several jobs in a single day. As assembly, dismantling and crane operations can be carried out by just one person, there is no need for additional staff or transport. This makes the MK cranes an economical solution for all kinds of lifting operations.
Thanks to their compact dimensions and high lifting height, these cranes are particularly well suited for use on confined building sites and on buildings with high interfering edges. The height-adjustable cab can be positioned along the tower, giving the crane operator an optimal view of the load and the work area at all times.
The flexible options for energy supply offer further advantages: the unit can be powered either via a 63-Amp mains connection or via the built-in generator. Further possibilities are offered by the jib, which can be adjusted at the touch of a button and operated horizontally at luffed jib positions of 15°, 30° or 45°, depending on requirements. Modern assistance systems help the crane operator to control the crane and ensure that lifts are carried out precisely and safely.
Plus option: more power at the press of a button
The Plus option allows for a lifting capacity up to ten per cent higher than in standard operation and can be activated directly via the crane control. This is based on a specially designed operating mode in which only one crane movement is carried out at a time. The resulting reduction in dynamic loads makes it possible to make targeted use of the existing lifting capacity reserves. Under specified operating conditions, the MK 88 Plus thus achieves higher lifting capacities and broadens the range of applications for the mobile construction crane.
Used MK cranes from the ReWork programme
The Liebherr ReWork programme offers the opportunity to enter the MK series with a reconditioned used crane. Following a thorough inspection and refurbishment at the manufacturer’s factory, the units are delivered ready for use. The lower investment required compared with a new machine provides scope for expanding the range of services on offer or extending existing fleets. Customers enjoy certified quality, rapid availability and support from the manufacturer.
