Press releases | 15-06-2026
All the Liebherr exhibits at Eurosatory 2026 are centered around reliability, military suitability and short-term availability – from aerospace systems, mobile and crawler cranes, earthmoving machines, energy supply and drive technology, right through to manufacture and automation expertise. The Group is taking the opportunity of this leading international exhibition to showcase itself as an experienced partner for defense applications and to demonstrate how tried-and-tested civil technologies can be deployed specifically in scenarios relevant to defense and homeland security operations.
At the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center on stand F96 (ExtPe6b), the Liebherr Group is presenting a selection of exhibits and solutions from its defense portfolio at the leading international exhibition for defense and security – Eurosatory 2026 – from 15 to 19 June 2026. With an exhibition space spanning some 220 square meters, Liebherr is displaying more than 20 exhibits from its product segments of aerospace and transportation systems, earthmoving, mobile and crawler cranes, components, and gear technology and automation systems.
One area of focus is on system and technology solutions, which have been developed or advanced specifically for mission-critical applications. These include systems for military aerospace platforms and solutions for energy supply in deployments, alongside high-performance drive technologies.
In light of this, Liebherr is showing numerous mission-relevant technologies from its aerospace and transportation systems product segment that are suitable for military aerospace applications. Central to this is the four-axle actuator of the Tiger attack helicopter, used to convey precise steering commands to rotor movements. The portfolio also includes the actuation control computer of the NH90 multi-role helicopter, serving as a central component within ultra-reliable flight control architecture. For military transport aircraft, such as the A400M, Liebherr also presents additional systems, including a latest-generation flight control drive as well as valve and system solutions for aircraft climate control. Exhibits such as an environmental control unit for recce pods and a heat exchanger shine a spotlight on the company’s expertise in the field of energy management and in modular, mission-specific applications. All the technologies on display are developed from extensively tested solutions from civil aviation and are designed for high security and reliability requirements as well as non-stop life cycle management.
It is precisely this aptitude for systems that Liebherr demonstrates in the field of electronics through its components product segment, in which the company serves as a full-service provider of systems. The portfolio incorporates central control systems for manned and unmanned platforms, modular battery and charging systems for UXS applications, and solutions for mobile energy supply in deployments. One such example is the battery-based LPO 600 energy storage system, which allows for a flexible power supply that is effectively camouflaged both acoustically and thermally.
In the field of drive technology, Liebherr is also presenting its most powerful 12-cylinder combustion engine, the D 9612, which has the advantage of providing both tactical range for cutting-edge combat tanks, while also boosting the combat value of existing vehicles.
This range of products is further enhanced by the industrial expertise of the gear technology and automation systems product segment. Building on tried-and-tested manufacturing solutions, Liebherr is supporting customers in the defense sector to optimize production processes over the long term, to flexibly scale capacities and to establish resilient supply chains in the defense sector – including by using extensively automated production lines for artillery ammunition or flexible production systems for military vehicle components and structural components in the aerospace sector. In addition to this, Liebherr provides highly effective gear-cutting solutions for gearboxes and drive trains that guarantee maximum reliability even in the toughest of operating conditions. In this way, the Group combines its proven industry expertise from customer experience in the automotive industry with innovative solution approaches.
As well as system and technology solutions, Liebherr’s appearance at Eurosatory will showcase a wide spectrum of machines for military deployment scenarios. These include applications for pioneering, logistical, recovery and rescue missions, which are complemented by digital technologies.
In the earthmoving product segment, Liebherr offers a wide portfolio of robust and diverse machines, including hydraulic excavators, telescopic handlers, wheel loaders and crawler dozers, alongside technologies for military pioneering, logistical and support operations. To demonstrate these at the exhibition, Liebherr will be displaying the TA 230 articulated dump truck as a carrier vehicle for the LPO 600 mobile energy storage system and for the Liebherr remote control system (LiReCon). As a carrier vehicle, the TA 230 is multifunctional depending on the structure: whether on challenging terrain, for military pioneering and logistics forces, in civil defense or for authorities at home and abroad. With its high load capacity, exceptional off-road capability and robust construction, the TA 230 comes into its own in these kinds of deployment. Furthermore, its platform architecture allows for a variety of mission-specific solutions to be integrated – from container transport to specialist applications for pioneering and defense operations.
Visitors to the exhibition can also discover LiReCon in action: a live demo at the exhibition booth will show how a crawler excavator located in Colmar (France) and a bulldozer located in Telfs (Austria) can be controlled remotely. The innovative teleoperation system allows for machines such as crawler excavators and crawler dozers to be precisely controlled from a safe distance. This combination of teleoperation and high-definition video transmission opens up a new world of potential applications – especially in difficult-to-access or security-critical areas, such as when detecting and clearing minefields.
Liebherr’s Eurosatory appearance also features a heavy-duty recovery vehicle from its mobile and crawler cranes product segment. The highly mobile MLTB 1025-4.1 is built for tactical and operational recovery missions under time pressure. It combines extreme off-road capability with an advanced winch system: two Rotzler capstan winches at the rear, incorporating lateral diverting options up to 90° for staggered recovery missions, as well as the options of synchronous control of both rope winches using remote control and self-recovery using TR 80 recovery winches on the front of the vehicle.
In complex and contested deployment environments, the MLTB 1025-4.1 has one clear mission: to deploy its power and control to recover and tow a wide range of wheeled and chained vehicles from the battlefield. The driver’s cab and crane cab are available in an armored version and are designed to ensure the multi-role platform fulfils the demands of modern land forces.
With the highest lifting capacity of its class, excellent durability and maintenance-friendly design combined with a global service network and through-life support, the MLTB from Liebherr makes a key contribution to ensuring a successful mission.
Liebherr will also take the opportunity of Eurosatory to present an innovative concept beyond its classic product portfolio: the S1, an extremely adaptable, autonomous and zero-emissions single-axle vehicle that is displayed as a vision for future logistics and pioneering applications in security-relevant settings. The S1 is designed to transport materials and provide assistance without any human intervention at all and to complement military earthmoving machines in operational areas that are key to defensive standing. Plans are also in development to enable it to operate in areas where GPS is not available. The S1 is a prime example of Liebherr’s approach of utilizing exhibitions to shine a light on technologically innovative perspectives for a diverse spectrum of future application scenarios, including in the defense sector, and to discuss these with industry representatives.
The solutions on display at Eurosatory are good examples of the Liebherr Group’s approach of viewing long-term customer relationships and partnerships as an important part of the company’s success. Liebherr has been working closely with its customers and partners in the defense sector for decades, embracing its responsibility to bring civil industrial expertise to military programs. At the heart of this stands the long-term support from development to series production and beyond to operation and maintenance in the field. Eurosatory provides an important framework for the Group to start a dialog with industry representatives and customers.
The exhibition is regarded as one of the world’s most important platforms for defense and security solutions. The market demands systems that continue to work reliably in the face of challenging operating conditions, that can be integrated into existing structures and that are available at short notice. Liebherr fulfils these requirements through tried-and-tested system and technology solutions, together with machines for military deployment scenarios. This is the result of, among other things, dedicated development and production capacities in Europe, a high level of vertical integration and a far-reaching service network to ensure reliable support in the field.
